"He went after Sierra again and even hurt her. If Dad finds out, he won't just refuse to help Benson-he'll be even angrier."

Janet felt a chill in her heart.

She thought about how much Edward cared for and protected Sierra. If they told him that Benson had been arrested for injuring her, he wouldn't help Benson at all. In fact, he'd probably be furious and make things worse for Benson.

She was on pins and needles in her anxiousness. "If everything won't work, then what should we do?"

Liam pursed his lips. Then, he slowly said, "Theo already said that if Sierra is willing to forgive Benson, he'll let him go."

Janet's expression changed instantly. "What are you saying? Do you expect me to beg Sierra?"

He met her incredulous gaze and answered after a brief silence, "Benson hurt Sierra. It's only right that we apologize."

"Are you insane? We're her elders! How could we possibly lower ourselves to apologize to her?" Janet snapped, and her face was full of resistance.

There was no way she would ever humble herself to apologize to Sierra.

"Then, don't complain about Benson's situation. Theo isn't going to babysit him forever. Let him stay locked up for a few days. Maybe it'll teach him to control his temper."

"Liam, that's your son!" Janet shouted angrily.

Liam's expression darkened, and his tone carried a hint of frustration. "Then, tell me, what do you propose? Theo made it very clear that if Sierra doesn't forgive Benson, he's not getting out anytime soon. That's the reality. How you handle it is up to you."

Janet was so furious she could hardly breathe.

She always looked down on Sierra, and now she was expected to apologize to her. The mere thought made her stomach churn with resentment.

Theo was doing this on purpose.

However, she thought about Benson being held in a cold, lonely police lockup, and her heart ached.

No matter how angry she had been at him, he was still her only son-the one she loved more than anything.

She clenched her jaw and spoke through gritted teeth. "Fine, I'll see Sierra tomorrow. If that's what it takes to get Benson out, I'll swallow my pride. I must have owed that boy in a past life!

"This is your fault! If you were the president of Gray Corporation, would we have to suffer this humiliation? It's because of your incompetence!"

She scolded him bitterly.

Liam's gaze darkened, and his fists tightened.
