After her rebirth

Yasmin gave a modest smile.

"I just know a little bit, I'm not that great."

Brynn, not wanting to disturb Yasmin further, complimented her a bit more before excusing herself and leading Desmond away.

Ever since Desmond saw Clara, he had been trying to find a chance to meet her, but Brynn stuck to him like glue, giving him no opportunity.

Even when he excused himself to go to the restroom, Brynn waited nearby, as if afraid he would run off.

Finally, an elder who hadn't seen Brynn in a while called her over to chat, giving Desmond the chance to return to the banquet hall and look for Clara.

But after searching the entire hall, he couldn't find Clara and started to get anxious.

Desmond was stunned and took out his phone. "Clara, you never called me, and you even blocked me."

"I did block you, Desmond, but that was because Brynn threatened me to do it," Clara said, crying as if she had suffered a great injustice.

Desmond's anger flared up, and he hugged Clara to comfort her. "How could she do that?"

He had tolerated Brynn enough, but he never expected her to secretly find Clara and threaten her. It was too much!

"Desmond, don't be mad. You weren't answering my calls. Did she use your phone to block me?"

Desmond immediately checked his phone's blocked contacts, and sure enough, Clara's number was there.

He clenched his phone, his face dark with anger.

"Your number is really here! It must have been her."

"What should I do then? Clara, I'm so sorry," Desmond said, looking pained and full of guilt.

Clara leaned into his embrace and whispered, "Even though I want you back, I don't want your life to become a mess because of me."

Desmond was deeply moved and promised, "Clara, don't worry. I'll talk to my dad and tell him what Brynn did. He'll make it right."

He couldn't cut ties with Brynn and leave the Boleyn family hanging, but he could compensate Clara in this way. With Gabriel's intervention, an apology was certain. Clara was a bit disappointed but agreed.

Cecilia didn't feel sorry for Nova at all, even seeming a bit gleeful. "By the way, I heard someone else got the spot, and it wasn't Skylar!"

"Skylar?" Katniss was puzzled. The name sounded familiar, but she couldn't place it.

"Katniss, you forgot who Skylar is? Nova wanted you to give up your spot for Skylar. Skylar was standing right next to Nova at the time."

Katniss finally remembered. "I remember now. So the spot didn't go to her?"

Cecilia quickly introduced Samantha, worried Katniss might ask who she was.
