Charity stared at the weak man on the bed.

Deep down, she was moved.

However, she had not thought of how to deal with his feelings for her.

Chester shut his eyes obediently. He could smell a faint scent on Charity, which made him feel very relaxed.

It was as though his tired body had found a haven.

Amid his headache, he slowly fell asleep.

Charity opened the window to let the breeze and sunlight into the room.

"No." Charity flashed a smile at her. "The food you prepared was delicious. He seems to have a poor appetite, so I hope to prepare something for him personally. Then, he should eat it out of respect for me."

Charity did not deny or accept it.

She hardly cooked, but considering Chester was sick and could not eat a lot of things, she made some chicken soup. She also prepared some salad and sweet potatoes.

After she finished cooking, she went upstairs. Chester had not woken up for long, and when he saw Charity, he was surprised. "You're still here, huh?”

"Duh."

"I thought you went back to have lunch." Chester tried to sit up weakly.

"No." Charity brought the prosthetic leg over and put it on for him.

She had never examined the prosthetic leg. However, now that she was putting it on up close for Chester, she realized that it was strenuous to put it on. Furthermore, the area around his broken leg looked swollen. "Will your leg hurt after you wear this for a long time?"

After being quiet for a moment, Chester answered honestly, "I can't wear it for a long time, and it's best not to wear it for over nine hours a day."

Charity thought over it. Chester definitely had it on for more than nine hours. Basically, he would have it on for more than 12 hours, and sometimes, he would wear it when he strolled with her outside. "You need to take it off at noon during breaks in the future. If you want to take a walk with me at night, don't wear it for too long during the day."

Chester was reluctant. "I'm fine-"

"Stop it. Listen to me." Charity said assertively, "If you don't behave, we'll break up."

With his soft spot exposed, Chester instantly surrendered. He looked down and said obediently, "Fine. I'll listen to you."

"Let's head downstairs to eat." After Charity put the prosthetic leg on for him, she helped him to stand up.

Chester spontaneously held her hand.

When the two of them walked into the dining room, the caregiver had prepared the cutlery and bowls.

Chester stole a look at the dishes on the table and immediately frowned. "Why didn't you cook better dishes?"

The caregiver was immediately at a loss. Charity glanced sideways at Chester with dissatisfaction. "Do you have a problem with it? Are you dissatisfied with my cooking?"

"Did you prepare it?" A look of surprise washed over Chester's face.

The caregiver promptly said, "Miss Robbins was the one who cooked for you."

At that instant, Chester felt so loved. He never thought that Charity would cook for him.

If he had known that he would get such treatment for being sick, he would not mind getting sick every day.

"Charity, there's a lot of food in the fridge, so you should've made better dishes. You shouldn't suffer because of me," Chester quickly said, trying to please her.

Speechless, Charity cast a look at him. "You think too highly of me. It's good enough that I could come up with these dishes."

"Really? With that beautiful hands of yours, I think anything you cook is delicious."

When Chester put the food into his mouth two minutes later, his face nearly contorted.
