Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon)

Chapter 204

An ex-boyfriend publicly discrediting his ex-girlfriend-how utterly disgraceful. To foreign spectators, such behavior was beneath contempt.

Celine turned to Heidi with a stern expression. "Miss, please remain quiet and watch the competition."

Heidi's face flushed, either from anger or embarrassment. "I'm Shirley Olson! How dare you treat me like this?"

Simon chimed in, "Do you not even trust Ms. Olson's words?"

If Janice's award wasn't revoked, she would only rise to higher ranks, and she'd look down on him forever. Simon couldn't bear the thought of Janice becoming more powerful and successful.

"Miss, come with me," Celine said, shaking her head in exasperation before signaling the staff to proceed with the awards ceremony.

Fuming, Heidi followed Celine backstage, with Simon trailing behind, ready to support her claims.

Once the door closed, Celine spoke in Cruznian, though she had a slight accent. "You claim to be Ms. Shirley Olson?"

Heidi hesitated for a brief moment but had no choice but to keep up the act. "Yes! Don't you recognize this brooch?"

Celine looked at the brooch and chuckled. "This is more than just a souvenir. Each one is unique."

"Of course! That's why it belongs to me! I'm Shirley Olson!" Heidi declared confidently.noveldrama

Celine took the brooch from her and examined it closely. "Are you unaware that each brooch is numbered?"

Heidi froze. She had no idea!

Shirley never mentioned this on WhatsApp!

Celine continued, "Each number corresponds to the award-winning seamstress at the time. Additionally, when the brooches were crafted, the winners would leave their fingerprints on them. It's a good thing I happen to have records of the winners' fingerprints with me."

She met Heidi's eyes. "Since you claim to be Ms. Olson, please provide a print of your right thumbz and I'll have it compared. If you're truly her, I'll apologize and thoroughly investigate the winning embroidery piece. Does that sound fair?"

Silence ensued.

Simon nudged Heidi. "Go on. Prove yourself!"

Heidi swallowed hard, completely unprepared for this twist. She had the brooch,

yet she was still exposed. If Simon found out she had lied to him, then...

"Forget it!" Heidi snatched back the brooch and turned defensive. "If you can't recognize the truth, I won't waste my breath. This so-called international competition is nothing but a joke, with no real fairness!"

With that, she stormed out. Simon followed her, feeling both frustrated and powerless.

Celine merely shook her head. What a pathetic spectacle.

Did Heidi really think she could pull off a scam right in front of her?

...

Fuming, Heidi and Simon left the competition venue and got into their car, heading back to the hotel.

Simon pressed her, "Why didn't you prove yourself? Janice has already won! Once she returns to Cruznia, her status and influence will soar. How will we deal with her then?"

"Can you stop pestering me? You-"

With a loud screech, their car was suddenly forced to a halt.

Startled, they watched as several foreigners smashed their car windows, yanked

open the doors, and dragged them out.

"What are you doing?" Heidi screamed.
