Chapter 79
Lola POV
As the idi*ts clutch their chests and scream some more, Liberty is pressing me to shift. 'Are you sure that you want to reveal yourself now, Lib?' 'yes I am. the hell with it!'.
Liberty shifts to her wolf form as if she wants to give them one last big f*ck you by showing them what they will be missing out on.
She growls viciously whilst towering over their pathetic forms. For the first time ever, I am able to see Liberty through our reflection in their glossy eyes. She is huge for a she-wolf!
Not to mention, a complete beauty with her all-white coat. 'Wow Liberty! So this is what you have been hiding?! You are magnificent' I exhale breathlessly.'
What have you done wrong in your prior life to be stuck with a human like me?' I semi-joke with her. I know she hates it when I say that, and although it took some convincing, I am now 100% sure she loves being with me.
Against all the odds. We are a team. 'Shush it girl, we are punishing some pups and a dragon... pup? What do they call dragon pups actually?' She huffs playfully. But I have no clue what they call them.
'No idea, but maybe we should let the dragon be? Dragons are extremely powerful, and we don't want to fight them'. None of the species are invincible, they all have their weaknesses, but unless you have ice or magic, dragons are a tough nut to crack. Slow, but tough. 'If he thinks s*x slaves are OK, then the hell we do!'
She growls and turns her head towards the dragon prince. She stalks towards him and the guy is still shocked, rooted to his spot. Liberty snarls at the guy and, to my surprise, she speaks in her animalistic voice "so you think having s*x slaves is OK? You think you can grab whomever you want against their will?" As she proceeds to stalk closer to him. 'You can speak in wolf form?!
I have never heard of any wolf who could?!' 'I told you we were special. Now the cat is out of the bag, we can expect trouble though.. I wish we had more time to learn all our powers before we were revealed in the royal pack of all places though, but I couldn't resist." What powers?' I ask her dumbfounded. She snorts 'Lola we just snapped their bones in half and made them kneel without touching them, which part of that seems normal to you?'.
Oh, yeah, right. In my anger haze I completely didn't dwell on what and how it happened, I was just glad they were hurting. "I... Look - erhm Lola right? - I don't, honestly.
It was all an act the guys asked me to go along with to drive you away. I'm sorry for going along with it" the dragon guy says while holding up his hands in a surrendering manner.
Although he seems sincere, and I am inclined to believe him - the alternative to what he was doing wasn't much better. "So helping 2 pretentious *ssholes scaring away an innocent girl to unclaimed lands to get captivated and assaulted by rogues is much better, isn't it?" Liberty snarls while the guy is taking steps backwards, as Liberty is stepping forward. "It isn't no. I have apologized for my part already. But Lola, please reign in your wolf now, as my dragon isn't too keen on the disrespect. He is a royal Alpha, and he is pushing me to fight. If you keep this up I won't be able to hold him back".
"Respect is earned, not given, dragon pup" Liberty snarls. 'Ehhhh Lib?' I gulp. 'Sorry, still so angry'. The guy stops stepping back and brings his hands down, balling them into fists before his eyes turn pitch black. A low guttural voice comes out "grrrrrrrrrph, wrong move little girl.
Don't think I will spare you just because you are a measly she wolf" right before he turns into a massive red dragon. The dragon is probably about 20 times the size of a wolf. Its skin is all deep red scabs. It has a major head with a big snout full of razor sharp fangs, 2 legs to stand on and a massive tail. The end of the tail looks like a spear and I bet it can pierce right about through anything.noveldrama
Well f*ck. F*ck me sideways. 'Little inconvenient to do sideways isn't it?' Liberty jokes, but I am in no mood to joke with the massive angry dragon in front of us. 'I'm glad you still have your sense of humor and all, but right now, there is a massive angry dragon waiting to kill us!' I panic. 'Angry, pfft. Yeah, well, so are we! We may not be as massive as him. But it's not what you've got, it's about how you use what you've got. Now let's teach this dragon pup some manners' she growls.
I don't know whether I should be proud of her unwavering fierceness, or scared sh*tless that she seems overly confident against a massive royal dragon.
I am leaning towards the second, but there is no time to dwell on it now. We haven't trained together in this form much, so we are not as in sync as we could be.
'Focus on our anger Lola. On what these f*cks just tried to do to us. How they think we are beneath them and do not deserve dignity, or even to be alive' she growls. I shake off my earlier thoughts. She is completely right, these f*ckers all need a lesson.
The dragon stretches his wings and roars so loudly, the wind is shooshing around us. We don't make the first move, we almost never do. Not just because it's dumb, but also because we only retort to violence if we are left no choice. Or if they push us too far. So, we just stand and wait for the dragon to move.
We haven't fought any dragons ever. Hell, we haven't ever even seen one! So it's better to watch and see what happens.
It opens his mouth and shoots a ray of fire - also called dragon's breath - which will incinerate everything in its path. We quickly dodge the fire, but the dragon turns its mouth, the fire remains hot on our tail.
'Oh f*ck it, he's mine now' Liberty growls and takes control as she leaps right back over the fire, which is a bold and risky move. To avoid an incomplete reading experience, visit Jobn'i'b.com. The dragon seems caught by surprise, I suppose nobody has ever tried to jump over the devastating flames called dragon's breath. She bolts straight toward his tail and clutches her jaws down tight.
I can tell you piercing a dragons skin takes a LOT more strength than the few wolves we have killed in wolf form, I'm surprised our teeth didn't crack.
'Swing him Lib!'. 'Read my mind, it's like we are one'. She uses all her strength to swing him across the yards towards the forest, where he crashes through a bunch of oak trees before coming to a stop and dropping to the ground.
He stands up in a daze, shaking his head in an attempt to regain his senses. When it is back on his feet, it flies up high into the sky above, before crashing down towards us.
