Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 1627

The eyes beneath that mask looked eerily similar to Fiona's just now!

Fiona had vanished without a trace, and even he couldn't pin down where she'd gone. It was as if she had simply evaporated into thin air. Though she'd disappeared in the past, she could always be reached somehow. But now, not only was she unreachable, even her IP was a ghost.

"Dig into her background," Jackson murmured.

His assistant sprang into action, leaving to handle his request, while Zoe tagged along, taking the elevator up to the third floor.

"Miss H, take a breather. The boss is downstairs and will be up shortly."

Fiona nodded, settling down cross-legged by the large window. Before long, the door swung open, and a barefoot teenager hurried in, carrying two steaming cups of hot cocoa.

"Fiona, you were a tough one to track down," the girl said, plopping down and placing one of the cocoa cups in front of Fiona. "Here you go-extra marshmallows for double the happiness."

"Thanks." Fiona took a hefty sip, feeling satisfied. "Jasmine, what's the scoop this time?"

"It's about the international film star showdown. Nine million a pop for makeup, but no one's wowed them yet."

Jasmine sighed, clutching her cocoa, her gaze drifting from Fiona to the window, a look of concern on her face. "Honestly, aside from you, I doubt anyone could catch their eye."noveldrama

"Nine million's no small change," Fiona chuckled. If memory served, wasn't an international film star backed by the Larkin family?

"How's business with the Larkin family?" Fiona asked.

"What's got you curious?" Jasmine looked at her with intrigue, setting her cocoa aside and pulling up a graph on her tablet for Fiona to see.

The graph ou

outlined International

Glam's earnings over the past couple of years and the dividends for other investors, with the Smith Group being the most profitable. Fiona found it odd that the Larkin family, with their minimal

investment, was raking insignificant profits on certain contracts, while barely touching the less lucrative ones. It was all too fishy.

"Any new hires in finance?" Fiona wondered aloud.

"Nope, just that the finance officer you brought on board left," Jasmine stated plainly. "I only heard about it a few days ago."

They exchanged a knowing glance, instantly grasping what it meant. Looks like International Glam had a mole.

"I'll dig into it," Jasmine declared, sipping more cocoa. Recalling a report she got earlier, she asked, "Did you have a spat with Zoe?"

"She's just a little pest."

"Wow, that doesn't sound like you. Is it about Jackson being engaged to her? Feeling the heat?" Jasmine teased, sticking her tongue out

cheekily. "Don't doubt my insight-l know you too well."

"You've got a big mouth. I'm thinking of asking your granddad to set you up with someone."

"No way! Fiona, that's low!" Jasmine's shriek filled the room.

Zoe stood outside the room, hesitant to knock. Frustrated, she dialed a number, and two minutes later, hung up with a contented sigh. Turning around, she froze upon seeing Jackson, and her face immediately brightened, all her worries evaporating.
