Chapter 791 The Best Information Gatherer

Phoebe followed Stanley into the hotel without glancing back. There weren't many people in the elevator. Stanley pressed the floor button and stood in front of Phoebe.noveldrama

He teased, "You turned down a man who likes you so much, and now you see him falling for that flirtatious Madison. How does that feel?"

Phoebe frowned, "What do you mean by 'flirtatious Madison'?"

"You don't know? Madison has quite the reputation in the circle. It's said that all the male actors at Queen Entertainment have some sort of ambiguous relationship with her," Stanley said with a hint of ambiguity.

Phoebe glanced at him, "You really are the best at gathering information, always the first to know everything. Is there anything you don't know?"

"That's professional ethics. I know what I can know, and I don't know what I can't," Stanley replied.

Phoebe understood.

Facebook, as a social platform for everyone, covered a wide range. As the person in charge, Stanley knew far more than they did.

But what could be said and what couldn't be said needed careful consideration for him.

They entered the private room, and the waiter quickly brought the menu. Phoebe pushed the menu in front of Stanley, "Stanley, order whatever you like. I'm not picky."

Stanley opened the menu and smiled, "Alright."

After ordering, the waiter took the menu and left. Stanley picked up the water glass in front of him and took a sip, thinking about Edward's attitude towards Phoebe earlier. He shook his head and sighed lightly.

Phoebe raised an eyebrow, "Why are you sighing?"

"Feeling sorry for you. Edward is such a good man, and you let Madison ruin him. What a pity," Stanley said.

Phoebe said seriously, "Mr. Rogers, you might not know my situation. I've been divorced. My ex-husband is Theodore Reynolds, and I have triplets."

"What?" Stanley almost spat out his water. He looked at Phoebe in shock. She didn't look like someone who had given birth.

"You heard right, triplets, and I gave birth to them," Phoebe handed him a tissue, looking helpless. "The reason I came to see you today is to buy some insurance for myself in advance."

Stanley looked her up and down, "You gave birth? You don't look like someone who has had children."

"I do!" Phoebe confirmed, "I've been trending a lot recently. You know the paparazzi only chase after what's hot. Whoever can create KPIs for them, they follow. I hope Facebook doesn't have any topics related to me."

Stanley's gaze deepened, "Phoebe, you should know that if there are no topics related to you, your company's actors will also be affected, especially the news entries related to you."

"I know. I'm a company operator, not an actor. I hope my personal privacy can be protected. Trending frequently is not good for me or my family," Phoebe said solemnly.

Stanley looked at her thoughtfully, "Phoebe, are the triplets your ex-husband's?"

Phoebe's eyes flickered. She lowered her eyelashes, not knowing how to explain this to Stanley, so she vaguely glossed over it.

Stanley was a smart man, very good at reading people. Seeing that she seemed to have something she couldn't say, he didn't continue the topic.

The dishes were served quickly, and the two ate and chatted, the atmosphere harmonious.

Halfway through the meal, there was a knock on the door, and someone pushed it open. They both turned to look and saw the man they had just mentioned walk in.

Theodore was wearing a white shirt, black trousers, and a tie, looking noble and aloof. His gaze swept over Stanley and landed on Phoebe, "I heard you were here, so I came by to see you."

Phoebe stood up, smiled politely but insincerely, and said, "Mr. Reynolds, what a coincidence."

She was having a bad day, choosing a place to eat and running into people she didn't want to see.

"It is quite a coincidence. Mr. Rogers, do you mind if I sit and chat for a while?" Theodore looked at Stanley, his gaze scrutinizing and wary.

Stanley was one of the outstanding students among Phoebe's peers. Recently, he had been meeting Phoebe privately, which made Theodore feel a great sense of crisis.

Stanley smiled, seemingly oblivious to the hostility in Theodore's eyes, "Mr. Reynolds, please sit. After our last meeting, your words left a deep impression on me. It's an honor to meet you again."

Theodore sat next to Phoebe, looking up at Stanley. From his perspective, Stanley was an exceptionally accomplished young man. His achievements at such a young age showed that Stanley was not as amiable as he appeared.

He tilted his head slightly, his gaze lingering on Phoebe for a moment, and said, "Mr. Rogers' insights into the current economy were also refreshing to me. Our connection is all thanks to Phoebe. Should we toast to her?"

Phoebe was quietly eating, suddenly cued by Theodore. She smiled, "Mr. Reynolds, I have work this afternoon, so I can't drink."

"Just a little," Theodore said, snapping his fingers. A waiter came in with a decanter of red wine, placing the tray in front of Theodore.

Theodore personally poured three glasses of red wine, placing them in front of Stanley and Phoebe. He raised his glass, "To our connection."

Phoebe and Stanley exchanged a helpless glance, raised their glasses, and clinked them with Theodore's. Theodore finished his wine first.

Seeing him finish, they had no choice but to follow suit.

Phoebe put down her glass and muttered softly, "They say red wine should be savored. Drinking it like this is such a waste."

Theodore tilted his head, looking at her indulgently, "Yes, whatever you say is right. How about savoring another glass?"

Phoebe quickly covered her glass with her hand, playfully scolding, "No, don't use this as an excuse to make me drink. I'm only having this one glass."

"Alright, I won't make you drink," Theodore chuckled. He picked up the decanter and poured another glass for Stanley, "Mr. Rogers, let's drink without her." Stanley's gaze shifted between the two. He had noticed before that they still had feelings for each other. Even if he had some interest in Phoebe, he didn't want to get involved in their relationship.

He raised his glass and clinked it with Theodore's, "Mr. Reynolds, please."

After chatting for a while, Theodore had to return to his own dinner. He turned to Phoebe, "Wait for me after dinner. I'll take you back to the office."

Phoebe said flatly, "No need, I'll go back myself."

"Be good," Theodore's hand under the table held hers, gently squeezing, "Wait for me to take you back, okay?"

Phoebe felt Stanley's gaze on them, her cheeks warming. She nodded, "Fine, you go quickly."

Satisfied with her answer, Theodore let go of her hand, his fingers lightly brushing her palm, causing a tickling sensation. He then got up and left as if nothing had happened.
