Goodbye, Mr. Regret

Chapter 402

"I won't let him find out," she said with a small nod.

Vince had finally witnessed Timothy's way of thinking firsthand today.

The man actually claimed that a true genius never needed to compete with anyone.

But Timothy didn't know that Jessica was the one financing the film. If he did, wouldn't he say the same thing again? With Jessica's resources, she didn't need this movie-she could have easily secured all the investment herself. Wouldn't it have been better for him if she'd just taken over the whole thing?

What a joke.

"Thank you," Jessica said again, her gratitude genuine.

Vince told her to send him Carlisle's contact details.

After they hung up, Jessica forwarded Carlisle's number to Vince, then messaged Carlisle herself to reassure him. She told him not to worry-a man named Vince would be reaching out soon.

Vince got in touch with Carlisle and, without wasting any time, left the office and headed to Carlisle's studio.

The moment he stepped inside, Vince was stunned.

The place was modest, almost barebones. Dozens of people worked there, and every single one of them was deaf and mute.noveldrama

The entire studio was steeped in silence-the only sounds were the soft clicks of computer mice and keyboards.

Everyone was absorbed in their work.

This time, to make communication easier, Vince had brought along a sign language interpreter.

Carlisle couldn't speak, but he greeted them warmly and ushered them into his office.

Vince got straight to the point.

Carlisle, knowing Vince had been sent by Jessica, explained the current situation in detail using sign language.

Vince replied, “Don't worry about Bryant Edge Films. Your movie will make it to theaters. Jessica will personally cover all the post-production marketing and distribution costs. Just make sure no one knows Jessica is the investor-tell everyone it's me. I'll take over everything from here and handle all the issues going forward."

When Carlisle found out Vince was the CEO of the Zimmerman Group, he finally relaxed.

He wouldn't have to go searching for help anymore.

After settling all the necessary details, Vince left the studio. He glanced back at the building before getting into his car and calling his secretary.

"As soon as possible, I want a new workspace that can hold a hundred people. Hire two receptionists, two custodians, two HR staff, and an officemanager-everyone must be fluent in sign language. Equip the

space with top-of-the Equip the

computers and set up the best possible lounge area."

He snapped his phone shut, unable to calm his thoughts for a long while.

It was only after several minutes that he finally instructed his driver to head to The

Bryant Group.

He arrived at Yates's office.

Yates's assistant was already inside, reporting to him.

"Mr. Bryant, they just got back to us. They've found another investor."

"So even if their movie won't make it to theaters, they still won't choose The

Bryant Group?" Yates asked, annoyance clear in his voice.

The assistant nodded, eyes downcast.

Frustrated, Yates tossed his files onto the desk and leaned back in his chair, his anger barely contained.

No one in the film industry had ever dared to cross him like this before.

"What's got you so worked up?" Vince said as he strode in.

Yates waved his assistant out and gestured for Vince to take a seat across from him.

"Word is, that director's a mute," Yates muttered. "I just can't figure out how someone like him has the nerve to turn me down."

"You were planning to hand the project over to Timothy anyway," Vince said calmly. "Why let it bother you?"

"That's not the point. It's one thing for me to offer Timothy the film, but getting rejected-so flatly-by someone like that? That's a whole different story. That's what pisses me off."

Vince offered a gentle smile. "Don't take it so hard. The only reason they turned you down is because I beat

you

to the punch. I already put up all the money."

Yates suddenly sat upright, staring at him in disbelief. "Are you out of your mind?"
