His Ex wife is a billionaire (Evadne and Thaddeus) Novel Full Episode

Chapter 1023

When Thaddeus finally woke up, Evadne Ashbourne just broke down, tears streaming down her face as she crumpled to the cold concrete outside the hospital. Her slender frame shook in the winter wind, and she hugged her knees tightly, sobbing.

"Ms. Evadne..." Jason Dempsey's voice caught in his throat as he watched her. His heart just about shattered at the sight.

Ever since Thaddeus Abernathy slipped into a coma, the days had blurred together for Evadne. She drifted through them like a ghost-she was alive, technically, but the vibrant, rose-bright woman she'd been was nowhere to be found.

She'd carried so much guilt, so much pressure, it was eating her alive from the inside out. She was losing herself, slipping further from reality each day.

"Oh, sweetheart, why are you crying? Thaddeus is awake! That's the best news we could hope for!"

On the other end of the phone, Hamilton Abernathy tried to comfort her, his concern clear. "Honey, it's freezing out—are you outside right now?"noveldrama

“Grandpa... I'm... outside the hospital," Evadne choked out, her tears hot against her chilled hands.

Hamilton's voice rose in alarm. "It's this late, and you're still out in the cold? Oh, darling, what are you thinking?"

"Grandpa, I want to see Thaddeus... But... they won't let me in..."

"Don't be silly, Evadne. As long as I'm here, who's going to stop you?" Hamilton's voice was strong and reassuring. "Murray and I are on our way to the hospital right now. Don't freeze out there-go inside and wait for us. I'll be there soon, and I'll make sure nobody lays a finger on you, sweetheart!"

Less than half an hour later, Hamilton arrived in his wheelchair, pushed by Mr. Murray. He met up with Evadne and Jason at the hospital entrance.

The four of them hurried to the private wing. A pair of Abernathy family security guards stood at attention outside the VIP suite. But with Hamilton in charge, nobody dared to block their way; the all bowed respectfully and let them pass.

"Thaddeus! My boy!" Hamilton could barely contain himself. He struggled to his feet from the wheelchair, leaning heavily on Mr. Murray as he staggered to the bedside.

There, pale as a ghost and propped up on pillows, was his beloved grandson-his once-bright eyes now dim and tired. Hamilton's composure crumbled, and tears slipped down his wrinkled cheeks.

"Thank God you're awake, Thaddeus. That's all that matters," Frederic Abernathy sighed with relief. He hadn't slept or eaten properly in days, as the dark circles under his eyes clearly showed.

"Ma'am... Mrs, Abernathy!" Gordon, the family's longtime assistant, spotted Evadne standing frozen at the doorway, too afraid to step inside. Tears welled in his own eyes as he rushed over, his voice trembling. "Mr. Thaddeus is awake! Please, go see him!"

Evadne's heart had nearly burst with longing every minute she'd been kept from Thaddeus. Now, so close, she suddenly felt paralyzed. She couldn't make herself cross the threshold.

She didn't dare face the Abernathys. After all, it was her fault their son ended up like this. Shame threatened to swallow her whole.

"What did you just call her?" Frederic's voice thundered across the room, his glare fixed on Gordon "Gordon! If I ever hear you call her 'Mrs. Abernathy' again, you can pack your bags and never set footin Abernathy Enterprises! I don't care who tries to save your job-it won't happen!"

Gordon bit his lip so hard it bled, swallowing his anger. He didn't care about the paycheck or the prestigious title of executive assistant anymore.

With Thaddeus's sudden return, and the young man's mind clearly not what it used to be, everything was uncertain now.
