The Gulf Of Darkness
"Let go," Sera seethed as Nate spun them around with all his strength. In their tussle, the stand slipped out of her hand, hitting the floor with a loud thud.
"You're not leaving me. Not now. Not ever," Nate declared, forcefully hugging her and pressing her flush against him, his blood staining them both. Hell will freeze over before he lets her go. He'll fight his ownself if he has to, but she wasn't leaving him.
"I'd rather die than be your wife," Sera hissed, venom lacing her words. Then, with all the fury she could summon, she drove her knee into his groin, making him double over. Seizing the opportunity, she backed away. Nate ignored the pain and dragged himself towards her.
"Don't go," Nate pleaded, staggering towards her despite the pain twisting every inch of him.
"Don't come closer," she warned, her gaze flickering over his shoulder, towards the door. He looked scary. Blood had painted his features crimson, his eyes wild with madness, and his strides slow but determined
As he advanced, she grabbed whatever her hands could find and hurled them at him, one after another, in a desperate attempt to keep him back. From bottles to the vase, everything she threw made his steps falter, but couldn't stop him. As he came closer, she shoved at him, but he gripped her wrists in time and pulled her firmly against his chest. His grip conveyed desperation, the fear of losing her. She could hurt him all she wanted, but he wasn't letting her go.
"Leave..leave..leave," she barked out of frustration. His head was bleeding, too, indicating he had sustained a wound there as well. How he was still conscious after so many strikes was beyond her.
"No..never," he refused firmly, cradling her closer. Just then, his head spun violently, leaving him vulnerable for a moment. She felt his weight bearing down on her. The girl shoved him, causing him to slam against the wall. Nate's vision blurred as he slid down the wall. Sera retrieved the stand and hit him a few times to subdue. After that, Sera raised the skirt of her gown and ran towards the door. Nate's arms shot out, his fingers brushing against her before she escaped his reach. Nate watched her leave, his insides wrenching apart with agony. The boy tried to get up, only to have his hands slip in his own blood.
"Stop, princess. Don't leave me," he pleaded, dragging his body towards the door. His voice laced with desperation.
"Don't leave me," he murmured, crawling. He knew he wouldn't be able to live without her. He loved her deeply, madly. Yes, his way of loving her wasn't conventional, but that's the only way he knew. The thought of her walking away broke something inside him. She should have killed him instead of leaving him. She saw his madness, but why couldn't she see his affection, his devotion for her. He emerged from the door to find Sera in the middle of the hallway. She wasn't alone.
Hope sparked in his wild eyes. "Dad..." he choked, staggering forward. Every effort was cutting him to his bones. Whereas Killian's face was carved in stone, Ara was heartbroken to see her son's condition. She rushed towards him, but Killian stopped her midway.
"Dad, stop her. Don't let her go," he begged, desperation etched deep into his features. His voice cracked, not with pride, but with the broken plea of a man on the verge of losing his everything. "I love her. I love her so much."
He reached out with trembling hands, his eyes glossy and haunted. "Don't let her leave me... please. She's mine, Dad."
In that moment, he didn't look like a man. He looked like a lost boy, shattered, pleading for the only thing that still mattered to him.
"Bella, take her away," Killian commanded without looking away from Nate.
Dread filled his eyes as he realised what that meant.noveldrama
"No..No, dad. Stop her," he said, struggling against his own body. His anguished
gaze followed Sera, turning restless as she got further and further.
"Stop her, Dad.." he screamed, watching her walk away helplessly.
"Stop. Don't leave me, Sera.." he begged, reduced to a miserable lover.
Before turning the corner, Sera stopped suddenly and turned to look at him. Their eyes met, causing hope to bloom in his heart. Whereas she was standing tall, he had collapsed.
"Please," he whispered, a hopeless
teardrop spilling down his
blood-soaked cheek. Sera heard him
and noticed his tears, too. She noticed the deep gash on his cheek, too, that was going to leave an everlasting scar. And then she turned away. She took the step, finally disappearing behind the corner.
"No," Nate screamed, stretching out his arms painfully to catch her. But she was way beyond his reach now. He screamed and screamed until his body gave way and he lost O consciousness.
"Sera," he whispered longingly before his eyes fell close and darkness engulfed
him. Again.
