Kiss My Revenge The Heiress Strikes Back

Chapter 390

Miranda observed the person's expression and movements in front of her, and it seemed they had already guessed what she was thinking. Amused, she touched her nose lightly. The staff at Sebastian's home were quite intriguing.

"Does your young master stay here often?" Miranda asked.

The butler responded as they walked, "Not really. The young master is usually busy with company affairs. However, he makes it a point to visit Miss Everhart at regular intervals each month."

Miranda raised an eyebrow, "Miss Everhart?"

The butler simply smiled and led Miranda further inside without elaborating.

Miranda initially thought that Sebastian would take her directly to see the patient. However, the butler guided her to a beautifully arranged parlor instead. In the center stood a long table, adorned with fresh flowers and an assortment of snacks and fruits. The presentation was exquisite, suggesting a professional hand at work. If she hadn't known better, Miranda might have thought she had stumbled upon a fancy brunch gathering. Apart from that, everything else was tastefully minimalistic.

"Ms. Lancaster, if you're hungry, please help yourself. The young master will be with you shortly," the butler said with a polite smile.

Miranda was puzzled, "Didn't you say he was already waiting for me?" Where was he? Surely he wouldn't stand her up?

The butler reassured her, "The young master went to make some arrangements as soon as he heard you arrived. However, attending to Miss Everhart can be a bit demanding, so you may have to wait a little longer."

Miranda nodded, "Understood."

After the butler excused himself, Miranda looked at the spread before her and decided to help herself. She picked up a banana, peeled it, and started eating. Realizing she was quite hungry, having skipped breakfast, she noted that thisnoveldrama

banana tasted different from what she usually bought; it was sweeter and had a better texture. Where was it grown? She suddenly had the urge to start a fruit garden on the estate. Mia and Cecilia had recently started a vegetable patch; perhaps they wouldn't mind adding some fruits to their list. The irrigation system was already in place, after all-might as well make full use of it.

As she finished her second banana, Sebastian finally appeared. "Sorry for the

wait," Sebastian's voice carried a note of apology.

Miranda looked up to see Sebastian

descending a spiral staircase, holding the hand of a girl who seemed about thirteen or fourteen. The girl appeared timid, and if Miranda hadn't been able to deduce her bone age, she might have assumed the girl was closer to ten. She seemed to have developed later than her peers, appearing smaller and more fragile. Her face was pale, and her features had altered slightly, diverging from what they might have originally been. Yet, she wasn't unattractive. In fact, she had a doll-like beauty. Her eyes were an unusual shade of green-not the typical green you might see or the result of colored contacts. It was a striking, almost eerie shade.

Until now, Miranda had only seen her in videos and thought she was just a child. Seeing her in person, it was clear she was a young girl on the cusp of adolescence. Miranda's gaze rested on the girl, "Is the patient your sister?"

In usual circumstances, she could discern familial ties, but the girl's altered appearance made the connection to Sebastian less apparent.

Sebastian led the girl over, his gaze briefly meeting Miranda's before turning to the girl beside him. "Yes, I hadn't mentioned it before because we haven't publicly acknowledged this sister within the Everhart family. I wanted to explain when you arrived."

"Her name is Susie Everhart. Susie, this is Mira," Sebastian introduced with a noticeably gentler tone.

Susie stared curiously at Miranda but remained silent. She watched like a little cub sizing up its surroundings. Sebastian moved forward, pulling a chair out for Miranda with gentlemanly grace, inviting her to sit. Miranda obliged, taking a seat. Sebastian took the seat opposite her, while Susie stayed close by his side.

"Susie, why don't you sit down too?" he suggested. Susie chose not to sit beside

him, instead finding a spot on the floor where she began to play. Sebastian had thoughtfully prepared a Barbie doll for Susie to enjoy.
