Chapter 914
Wilbur waved a hand, and they finally left reluctantly.
Right before the door closed on them, they gave one last envious look at Tiff.
Just then, Wilbur took out a chip worth a million dollars and handed it to her. "You've worked hard the past two days. Thank you."
Tiff took the chip from him with shaking hands. She felt like her brain was turning to putty, and she did not know what to say.
Wilbur said nothing either, lighting a cigarette and smoking it.
A little over ten minutes later, Tiff's head was finally clear enough for her to look at Wilbur, saying, "Thank you! Thank you so much! I can't even make a million dollars in years! Thank you so much!"
Wilbur smiled and nodded, saying nothing.
A long silence later, Tiff said in a barely audible voice, "Would you like me to run you a bath, sir? You could use some rest."
Wilbur nodded.
Tiff flushed, and she headed to the bathroom to prepare a bath.
...
At the same time, over in the casino owner's office, Samson Honard was puffing on a cigar with his feet up on the desk before him, listening to Sharon's report.
"His name's Wilbur Penn, checked into the hotel last night. Started out with slot machines and won roughly fifty thousand dollars in the first round. Then, Tiff Kirk led him to change play at the blackjack table, where he won over five million dollars. The next day, he went to the Sic Bo table and won forty million dollars in the lounge until he ran into Edward and Jesse. They gambled against each other in the VIP lounge, and Penn won a total of one billion and two hundred million dollars from both of them in two rounds."
Sharon finished her report and looked at her boss quietly.
Samson smoked his cigar, his gaze darting around for a long time before he spoke up.
"Going all in every round, with an increasing capital from his winnings, and winning every single time. Do you think it's luck?"
"The thing is, we haven't found any signs of him cheating thus far."
Samson rapped on the desk lightly with his knuckles. "He might have, but you just didn't notice. Some experts can go undetected by the cameras, you know."
"Are you saying he might be a cultivator?" Sharon said in shock.
Samson said, "It's not just a possibility. He's definitely a cultivator."
"Well, he's just looking for trouble, then! Everyone knows that the punishment for
cheating cultivators in our casino is death," said Sharon.
Samson fell silent for a while before saying, "Where's that Tiff girl?"
"She's still in Wilbur's room," Sharon replied.noveldrama
Samson said, "Bill, wait for her to come out and bring her to me."
"Yes, sir." Bill turned to leave.
Tiff was still in a daze when she left Wilbur's room.
She had gotten ten million dollars instead of one million.
She was financially free enough to leave this hellhole at last, to go back home to do whatever she wanted.
She had been dreaming of this day for a long time but did not expect it to come so soon.
The bliss made her dizzy, and she was starting to feel like she was living in a dream.
Just then, she was grabbed by someone. When she finally realized it, Tiff found herself in her boss' office.
"Mister Honard?" Tiff asked, confused.
"What relationship do you and Wilbur Penn share?"
"A normal relationship?"
"Really? How can you explain the chips in your hand, then?"
"He gave them to me."
"So, you're going to continue lying, eh? Bill!" Samson called out coldly.
Bill came forward, stomping down harshly.
Tiff screamed in agony as her left knee was broken at once.
The bone was exposed from the impact, with blood gushing out from the wound.
An overwhelming pain shot through Tiff's body, and she nearly passed out.
Tiff collapsed to the ground, crying out in agony.
What do you think?
