Lost and Found: Return of My Mysterious Fiancee

Chapter 1020: Interrogating Orion Woodwind

Tina was certain-if her memory served her right, it should have been ten days since she started taking the medication. So why was she still drinking it endlessly? It felt like a bottomless pit.

Jared handed her a glass of water, his expression calm to an almost infuriating degree. Yet, his voice was soothing as always. "You forgot a dose the day we visited your grandfather's house. This is to make up for it."

Tina frowned. "...Uncle, how much of this medicine is left?"

Jared understood her frustration and chuckled softly. "Tomorrow is the last day. Once you're done, we'll go to the hospital for a check-up to see if it worked. We'll also take a look at the baby's development."

Tina's lips twitched. "The baby's less than two months old. It's not even as big as your finger yet."

Jared's dark eyes gleamed as he smiled. "At two months, we should be able to hear the heartbeat. Tina, don't you want to hear the baby's heartbeat?"

Tina's gaze flickered. She couldn't deny it-his words had tempted her.

Half an hour later, on the way to the Havenhart family estate, Tina glanced over the files Jayden had sent her.

Jaxon Havenhart, the current head of the Havenhart family.

An astrologer and chief design engineer with a talent for traditional courtyard architecture. The Havenhart family had once been court architects, but as times changed, the family faded into obscurity, relying solely on skill to maintain their status. Despite their low profile, the Havenhart family's exceptional craftsmanship had earned them the favor of many influential families. One such example was the courtyard of the Warren family estate, which had been designed by Jaxon himself.

Tina understood now. No wonder her grandfather had asked her to bring the letter- there was a deeper connection at play.

When they arrived at the Havenhart estate, Nathan almost thought he was hallucinating. The grand, classical gate and the forested surroundings made it feel as though they had stepped back in time.

Nathan had always thought the Warren family's property was traditional enough, but the Havenhart estate, seamlessly integrated with the surrounding mountains, was devoid of even a trace of modernity.

It was beautiful, yet oddly intimidating-a quiet, indescribable sense of oppression.

Shaking off the feeling, Nathan cleared his head and turned to the two passengers in the back. "Sir, Madam, we've arrived."

Jared was the first to step out, offering a hand to help Tina out of the car. Together, they approached the gate.

After stating their names and presenting Warren's handwritten letter, the butler quickly came to escort them inside. Nathan stayed back to keep watch.

Jared held Tina's hand as they entered the hall.

At the head of the room sat an elderly man in a suit, appearing even older than Warren. His face, however, exuded warmth-he was the picture of longevity.

Jared and Tina introduced themselves and stated their purpose. Jared spoke first. "Mr. Havenhart, we've come today to ask you about a matter."

Jaxon Havenhart, not one to flaunt his seniority, nodded and gestured for them to sit. He ordered tea to be served. "Mr. Pace explained your intentions in his letter. Please, feel free to ask what you need."

Tina got straight to the point. "Mr. Havenhart, my grandfather told me that the Swanson family's property was designed by you. Do you still have the original design drafts? We need to verify something."

"Swanson family?"

Jaxon Havenhart paused, as though the name wasn't familiar.

Jared offered a brief reminder, and realization dawned on Jaxon's face. He nodded. "Ah,

yes. The Swanson family's property was indeed designed by the Havenhart family. However, it wasn't my work-it was my younger brother Kellan who handled that project."

Jared and Tina exchanged a glance.

"Your brother?" Jared asked.

Jaxon sighed. "Although both of us studied architecture from a young age, our styles differed greatly. I favor traditional designs, while he believed European styles better suited his vision. Eventually, we went our separate ways professionally."

Tina pressed on. "Where is your brother now? Could we consult him on this matter?"

A trace of sorrow flickered in Jaxon's eyes. "He passed away many years ago." "However, if it's the blueprints you're after, I can have someone check his study. If they're still there, I'll send them to you."

Hearing this, Jared and Tina saw no reason to linger further.

As they prepared to leave, Tina suddenly asked, "Mr. Havenhart, may I ask-how did your brother pass away?"

Jaxon hadn't expected the question. He froze for a moment but didn't show any irritation. Instead, he let out a soft sigh. "He was always in poor health. The doctor said he succumbed to illness brought on by excessive worry."

Tina lowered her head in apology.noveldrama

After bidding him farewell, she left the estate with Jared.

Once outside, Tina got into the car and directed Nathan, "Take us to the prison."

Nathan, having worked under Jared for so long, immediately understood where she meant. Without a word, he started the car.

In the backseat, Jared wrapped an arm around Tina, letting her lean against him. His large hand covered her cool fingertips, transferring his warmth to her. "Are we going to interrogate Orion Woodwind now? Did you find a lead?"

Tina's eyes narrowed. "Even if I didn't, I'll get something useful out of him."

The Swanson family had collapsed, Claudia had disappeared, and Tina refused to believe Orion Woodwind could remain indifferent. After all this time, it was time to make him useful.

Inside the small, solitary confinement room, an elderly man with graying hair sat slumped in a chair, his face obscured as he hung his head.

Tina stood behind the protective barrier and spoke coldly.

"I underestimated you."

"To have served her so faithfully all these years, it seems Claudia's grand vision of overthrowing the world really brainwashed you."

The man showed no reaction.

As expected, Tina continued, her tone sharp and unrelenting.

"Your little tricks won't stop me. On the contrary, they've only confirmed one thing- Claudia left what she needed in the Swanson family estate."

The man's shoulders twitched slightly.

Tina remained calm, pressing on. "Claudia wants to rule the world. To do that, she'll either use some method of achieving immortality to gain followers or resort to weapons to enforce her will."

"Either way, if it threatens national security, you and Claudia could die a thousand times, and it still wouldn't be enough."

She paused, her voice turning cold. "But have you considered the consequences for the rest of the Swanson family? You might not care about anyone else... but what about Poppy?"

Though Tina didn't know why Orion Woodwind had protected Poppy all these years, it was clear that she was special to the Swanson family. Tina had noticed it long ago.

Even though the Swanson family knew of the Warren family's status, they hadn't opposed Poppy's association with them. The conspiracy behind it was something only Orion knew.

Sure enough, at the mention of Poppy's name, the man's shoulders jerked, and he slowly raised his head. His hoarse voice rasped, "The Swanson family will endure. When the plan succeeds, all of this will be meaningless."

Tina sneered. "Your grand plan? That dream died the moment I shattered the Jade Armour."

"Immortality? Don't even think about it-not in this lifetime."
