Chapter 566 From One Prison to Another
Anna never expected that the person who truly saved her was Chloe. Her heart was in turmoil.
A part of her felt unbearably guilty. How could she accept Chloe's heart?
But another part of her clung to the thought that this heart was the only thing Chloe had left. She couldn't let it go to waste.
In the end, she accepts her fate.
And as if fate had already decided everything, her previous heart transplant had been a failure. No matter how many treatments Taylor tried, her body never fully accepted them.
But when Chloe's heart replaced it, her recovery was faster than anyone could have imagined.
Taylor was ecstatic.
"Anna, you can live like a normal person now!" He said, overjoyed, and pulled her into his arms.
It was unbelievable, almost like this heart had always belonged to her.
Anna felt both relief and grief. Even in death, Chloe was protecting her.
Tears streamed down her face. "How can I possibly live like a normal person?" From the moment she was taken away by the Carlyns, she lost her freedom. Chloe's death was just the beginning of their revenge against the Sanders. The thought devastated her. She didn't want things to be this way. She had to escape.
She had to stop this before history repeated itself.
But she never expected her escape to push her into an even more bottomless abyss this time.
"Taylor, I want to visit Chloe's grave."
"Sorry," he said, "The Sanders never gave her one." Anna laughed bitterly. It had been more than two weeks. How could they not have buried her?
She had no idea what had happened to Chloe after her death.
Taylor didn't tell her. "Focus on recovering first. Once you're better, I'll take you to see her."
Winter in Snowville was long; this year, it was colder than ever.
Anna sat by the window, drawing on the fogged-up glass like she used to as a child.
Chloe had always been gifted. Unlike her, no matter what she drew, it always looked terrible.
Her sister would hold her hand, guiding her strokes one by one.
But now, Chloe was gone.
Before, even if they were apart, she knew Chloe was alive and happy
somewhere. That was enough for her.
Now, she had nothing left to hold onto.
Maybe Taylor was afraid she'd have nightmares again, so all her medical
checkups were done in the hospital.
That was her best chance to escape.
While she was being examined, Taylor received an important call. She seized the moment and ran.
She had to thank him; he had always been too lenient with her. Maybe he thought she was too weak to escape.
Either way, the day came faster than expected. Anna sprinted, terrified he would catch her again.
As soon as she reached the roadside, she saw a private car taking passengers. She knew these cars were called online taxis, just like regular cabs.
There was no time to wait for a real taxi, so she jumped in and gave the driver Sanders's address.
She even negotiated with him that she would have her family pay once they arrived.
"No problem, miss. You just got out of the hospital? Were you sick?"
"No," she said calmly. "I was visiting a relative." Growing up with Taylor had taught her to be cautious of strangers.
The driver handed her a bottle of water. "Here, have some."
"Thanks, but I'm not thirsty."
She was too young when she left and didn't remember the roads well. So, she asked, "Sir, how much longer until we arrive?"
"Half an hour. You're headed to the villa district, huh? Are you one of the rich young ladies?"
She wasn't sure if he was making conversation or had other motives. She only prayed they would get there quickly.
But as the drive continued, the surroundings became increasingly desolate. Even though she wasn't familiar with the route, she knew the Sanders lived in a villa district, not some deserted wasteland swnovel
Something was wrong.
His earlier questions had been tests.
Luckily, Taylor had taught her plenty of ways to protect herself. Jumping out of a moving car was out of the question. She'd end up dead before she even fought back. swnovel
She had to make him stop.
"Sir, I haven't eaten yet. Can you pull over? I want to buy some food." She pointed
at a street food stand.
But the driver stepped on the gas. "Sorry, miss. No stopping is allowed on this
road."
Her voice turned cold. "Is it not allowed, or do you just not want to stop?"
She grabbed the water bottle inside the car and hurled it at his head.
But she underestimated him. He had seen her movements through the rearview
mirror. Before the bottle even hit him, he sprayed something in her face.
She realized something was wrong, but it was too late. She reflexively inhaled the fumes.noveldrama
The drug kicked in fast. Her body went weak.
Her vision blurred. The last thing she heard was the driver making a call. "Got a feal beauty. Young, delicate
ак
skin like porcelain. We'll ha cate first, then figure out what tone
with
her." swnovel
Her heart sank. Damn it. She had just escaped, only to run straight into a pack of wolves.
Darkness swallowed her. When she woke up, she could move again, but her face flushed and her limbs were weak.
She was in a filthy, abandoned room. Takeout boxes were piled in a corner. Dirty clothes, stinking socks, and even used condoms littered the floor.
Three men stood nearby. One of them slapped her face lightly. "Well, well, you're awake."
"Don't touch me!"
"Feisty one, huh?" The man sneered. "Girls like you always scream at first, but by the end, you'll beg for more."
"Yeah, this one's top quality. Great body, fair skin."
"Bet she's still a virgin."
"Hey, I found her first. I get the first turn."
Anna was terrified. She had never faced anything like this before. At that moment,
only one person came to her mind, Taylor.
Her body burned. Her mind grew hazy.
The men were laughing. One of them cupped her face. Another leaned down to
kiss her. She struggled desperately. "No! Get away from me!"
Only one thought filled her mind: "Taylor, save me!"
As if fate had heard her, the door was suddenly kicked open. The man from her
memories appeared in the doorway, his eyes burning red with fury.
"Anna."
"Taylor, save me."
What do you think?
