Chapter 1389
How could two such genuine souls ever part ways? But after those words left Tiffanie's lips, she hung up the phone. The room reeked of alcohol, with takeout containers strewn all over. Tossing her phone aside, Tiffanie flopped onto the couch. A loud banging at the door interrupted her moment of quiet.
"Tiffanie! You lowlife, come out!"
"You're as worthless as your mother, a ride everyone's taken!"
Tiffanie's brow furrowed, but she pretended like she didn't hear a thing.
The delivery guy, standing beside Everett, winced at the barrage of insults. Though he didn't understand the Australian dialect, he caught a few choice words, just as Aussies know some English ones.
He knocked on the door, and Tiffanie, thinking it was Everett again, got up and peeked through the peephole. It was the food she had ordered.
She opened the door, but Everett barged in from the side, going on a rampage, smashing things like a madman.
"You wretch! It's all your fault my son is ruined! You must have planned this all along. I won't let you off; I'll make sure you never find peace!"
The apartment was rented by Tiffanie, and she wasn't swimming in cash. Most of what she had was from Mason, which she had intended to return when she had the chance. But Mason had already cut off all forms of communication with her, leaving her completely out of his life. The money couldn't be returned.
With not much furniture left to begin with, Everett's rampage left the place in shambles, not a spot to rest. Tiffanie, holding her takeout, watched Everett.
After he had wrecked the place, his resentful gaze landed on her. He charged, grabbing her hair and slapping her hard across the face multiple times.
"Wretch! Can't even hear when you're being scolded, can you?! Maybe I should bring your worthless mother here and let her see what you've become. She'd be thrilled!"novelbin
Tiffanie's cheeks bore the clear
imprint of fingers, and blood trickled from the corner of her mouth. She licked the blood, then said, "Done yelling, Everett? You do this every day, doesn't it exhaust you?"
Before she could finish, Everett, unable to hold back, slapped her again. "Wretch!"
The delivery guy, still at the door, witnessing this abuse, hurried forward to intervene.
Everett sneered, narrowing his eyes. "So, this is another man you've seduced? Tiffanie, you've really mastered your mother's tricks. If that's the case, stay away from my son, Mason!"
Tiffanie's stomach growled with
hunger, aching painfully. She hadn't eaten in two days, surviving on alcohol. Seeing her silent, Everett felt an infuriating sense of impotence, like punching a cushion. He grabbed the takeout from Tiffanie's hand and threw it to the ground, spilling its contents.
The delivery guy moved to intervene but stopped as Everett roared.
He seized Tiffanie, noticing the bruises on her neck from his previous assaults. Like a beaten doll, no matter how he hit her, she wouldn't fight back, making it all the more unsatisfying.
"She's nothing but a cheap sellout, get lost! I'm going to set her straight today!"
Moreover, Tiffanie's wrist was
adorned with a bracelet Mason had

"Are you that low? Fight back!"
