Master of his heart (Brielle and Max)

Chapter 1392

Tiffanie quietly tidied up the trash by the door, then, dragging her little suitcase behind her, stepped out of the apartment complex. She had no idea where to go. Hotels were out of the question, and she definitely didn't feel like calling anyone.

She ended up on a park bench, setting her suitcase down and deciding this would do for the night.

But around five in the morning, she felt someone touching her leg. Jolting awake, she saw a homeless man standing beside her, his intentions clear as day.

Tiffanie kicked him away, disgust etched on her face. She grabbed her suitcase and started to leave, but the man trailed closely behind, trying to chat in broken English.

"Fifty bucks, one time, I'm in," he said, waving a crumpled flyer at her. Tiffanie glanced at it and saw her own photo.

She immediately knew who was behind this. Fifty bucks? Was that her worth now?

She laughed through her tears at the absurdity.

The homeless man mistook her laughter for agreement and grabbed her wrist, pulling her towards a nearby alley.

Tiffanie didn't put up a fight. Maybe this was how it was meant to be.

As she was shoved against a grimy wall, her mind went blank. Then, she heard hurried footsteps echoing down the alley.

Someone stepped out of the shadows and landed a punch on the homeless man, sending him sprawling.

Tiffanie, her clothes still intact, looked up in surprise to see Mason standing there, his eyes a mix of love, hate, and pain. The homeless man, groaning in pain, scrambled away.

Tiffanie smiled at Mason. "Well, fancy seeing you here, Mason."

For Mason, it felt like a thousand knives to the heart.

Why did love have to hurt so much?

What had he done wrong?

He grabbed Tiffanie's wrist, gripping it tightly.novelbin

Tiffanie greeted him with the same light smile as before, but her eyes were filled with deep fatigue.

Everything felt so mundane. Every event, every person, seemed dull.

Mason wanted to slap her. How could she stoop so low? Was any man okay for her now? Even a man off the streets? How could she change like this?

Or maybe, she had always been this way, and he had never noticed.

To think he had considered this woman his first love-it was now his shame.

His grip tightened, but he couldn't let go.

He had just

intervie come from a high-profile

interview on Wall Street, hailed as a success story with his face on the front pages.

And yet, here he was, in this old, dimly lit alley stinking of decay, entangled with a woman.

If his world represented success and cleanliness, then Tiffanie's world was nothing but filth and disgrace.

"Is anyone okay for you, Tiffanie?

it true that anyone will do?!" he

demanded, wanting to push hol ne

away in anger, but instead, he broke down in tears.

Tiffanie saw his tears and felt a sting in her heart.

She forced a smile, not understanding why he had followed her.

"Mason, it was just a game to me," she said, each word a dagger.

It was all just a game. She had never loved him; it was merely for fun.

Always being toyed with by fate, it seemed not so bad to toy with fate in return, even for a moment.

She knew she had become another Everett, the person she found most ridiculous and despised the most.
