Master of his heart (Brielle and Max)

Chapter 1408

The live stream was already in full swing when Samuel's name was called, and his face flushed with embarrassment. Mic up Brielle? That was a bit too close for comfort. Brielle was the boss, after all, and the act of fitting her with a microphone was a tad too personal. If she took it the wrong way, working at Stellar Stage Entertainment could become a nightmare. Though, to be fair, Brielle wasn't the type to hold grudges.

Right after Jiang Yu finished speaking, she casually strolled over to King, trying to link arms with him. But King was ahead of the game, accepting a microphone from the crew and fitting it on Brielle himself.

Brielle could tell he wasn't in the best mood, but with the live audience watching, she couldn't just coax him openly. That would be super awkward, especially since he was the CEO.

The live chat was buzzing, not just with King's reaction, but also with the viewers' reactions to Jiang Yu's antics.

"Seriously, the rest of the crew is just faking it, pretending to be couples. Mr. Haywood and Mr. Dorsey are the real deal, and here Jiang Yu is, trying to set Mr. Haywood up with someone else. Unreal."

"I'm literally about to lose it. How can someone be so annoying? Just thinking about it gives me a headache."

"Mr. Dorsey and Mr. Haywood are so composed, dealing with this without losing their cool."

With the chat room buzzing with controversy, this season of the show had quickly become the talk of the town right from the start.

Teams had already been drawn, and with everyone watching, there was no changing them. Brielle ended up on the same team as Samuel.

The crew then had everyone pick a farm task to earn tokens, which they could trade for dinner ingredients.

For Samuel, appearing on this reality show was a golden opportunity to get noticed. Having just signed with Stellar Stage Entertainment and without much to his name, being part of "Travel in Romance," backed by his new agency, felt like a stroke of luck. Even before the season aired, Jiang Yu's fans had started bashing him, insisting he wasn't good enough for her.

So, standing in front of Brielle, Samuel was genuinely nervous, softly asking, "Mr. Haywood, which task would you prefer?"

The options were slim: picking oranges, fishing, clearing overgrown fields, fetching water, or helping sell veggies at the market.

Clearing the field seemed the

toughest given the need to shovel up rotten stalks. Fetching water, however, was perfect for a team effort, allowing a guy to show a bit of gallantry. noveldrama

Brielle picked up a basket and handed one to Samuel. "Let's go pick some oranges," she decided.

The rural outskirts chosen for the

show weren' deserted but part of a government demonstration area, popular, with city folks looking fora getaway. This location was picked to highlight the area, with Beaconsfield's oranges being a big attraction.

Relieved, Samuel quickly followed her lead.

Brielle noticed King had chosen fishing, wondering if he'd be as good at it as he was at handling boardroom sharks.

Their eyes met, and Brielle gave him a smile, making King wish he could ditch his fishing rod and join her in the orange grove. Fishing? He couldn't care less right now!

Feeling King's icy stare, Samuel couldn't help but shiver, as if a guillotine hung over him.

King, clutching his fishing rod, wished he could snap it in two. He longed to be with Brielle, but Jiang Yu was there, as usual.

"Mr. Dorsey, you must be a great

fisherman. It's a real privilege to fish with you. Shall we head to the pond?" Jiang Yu said, reaching for King's sleeve, but he smoothly sidestepped, not letting her touch even a thread of his shirt.

Back in the chat, viewers were cracking up.

"How can someone be so clueless?"

"Say what you will about Mr. Dorsey, but the man does have some standards."

"Just the sight of Jiang Yu irritates me. I wonder what she'll do next!"
