Chapter 1469
Over the past few months, Steven and Skylar had noticed that Janine was glowing with happiness because of her newfound romance. It seemed that no matter a woman's age, love was always a vital part of her happiness.
As her children, they could offer her familial love, but Janine also needed the care and affection that came from a romantic partner-seeing her finally find that happiness brought them great joy.
As Skylar neared Rosetone Residence's complex, she found herself stopped at a red light at a busy intersection. It was rush hour, and the streets were bustling with cars.
She waited patiently for the light to change. Just then, a middle-aged man walking with a young woman caught her eye. The man appeared well- maintained, likely due to frequent exercise, making him look considerably youthful. The young woman at his side clung to his arm, her smile radiant.
At a glance, their facial features revealed a strong resemblance-it was unmistakable that they were father and daughter. If this had been an encounter with strangers on a typical day, Skylar might have simply spared them a passing glance.
But this man was different. This middle-aged man looked identical to the man in the cherished photograph that Janine had kept all these years. Time had etched a few lines on Finn's face, but beyond that, he appeared unchanged.
They seemed to have just left a restaurant before getting into a car and disappearing from view. Skylar felt a wave of dizziness wash over her, momentarily dazed.
"Was that Dad?" she thought, struggling to believe what she had just seen.
Lost in her thoughts, Skylar didn't notice the traffic light had changed. The cars behind her honked impatiently, jolting her back to reality. She had completely missed the light change.
After another ten minutes, she parked her car. But instead of immediately getting out and heading to the elevator, she dialed Steven's number. Steven picked up quickly. "I'm already in the parking garage."
"Steven, let's not go upstairs just yet. I need to talk to you about something," Skylar said, her voice unusually heavy.novelbin
She had just gone through the photos stored on her phone.
In one of the family photos from when they were young, Finn's face was crystal clear-it was the same middle-aged man she had just seen.
But now that she was calmer, she
t
realized the middle-aged man she saw earlier seemed to be living quite
n
well. He was driving a luxury car valued at two to three million dollars and dressed in designer clothes.
The girl walking beside him had a refined air, and it was clear that he was doing quite well for himself.
Soon, Steven arrived.
Steven and Skylar exchanged a look.
On the side, Mona quietly waited.
"I saw Dad, Steven," Skylar spoke first.
Steven paused for a moment, then nodded calmly. "I've seen him too."
Skylar was a little surprised. "You've seen him before?"

"I found out a few months ago that he's still alive and has begun a new family. I didn't mention it because, after all this time, he didn't want anything to do with us or Mom Now that Mom has moved on, there's no point in letting him disrupt our lives orchers," Steven said, his tone steady and quiet.

He'd believed that with Jipsburg's size and their vastly different lives they would never run into him, yet, he never expected Skylar to come across him today.
