My Gentle Wife is a Real Divine Being

Chapter 1053

“I’ll talk. It was Matthew Ledger. Please, spare me, Mr. Lowe,” Silas said, terrified.

He was just a small–time worker running errands for the bigshots.

Drake narrowed his eyes, not expecting Matthew to be so bold.

“Boss, what should we do with these people?” Kale asked.

“Bind them all up.” Drake glanced at the boat. “Stuff them in there, along with the machines, and send them to the West Factory. We’ll go meet Matthew.”

“Yes, boss.” Kale gave orders to cram those men into boxes.

Among the group, six men suddenly pulled out their guns. “Don’t move!”

Debra saw it and opened the car door.

Looking nothing special, these people had blended into the crowd and acted only at the critical

moment.

Debra knew that the shipment of so many machines couldn’t go unsupervised. She hadn’t noticed anyone hidden earlier, but it turned out they’d been embedded within the group.

Clearly, whoever was behind this had infiltrated Drake’s company.

“Stand back!” The six men grouped, scanning their surroundings to make sure Drake’s men were unarmed.

Only then did they begin to slowly retreat toward the boat.

At this point, Debra walked over. Drake grabbed her and pulled her behind him. “What are you doing? Get back.”

The men had guns, and so did he. If it came down to a gunfight, his shooting skills weren’t

any worse.

But this wasn’t Orkgate, and firing a gun here would cause huge trouble, especially since he was the CEO of the Lowe Group.

“Relax. Now that they’ve shown themselves, things will be easier to handle,” Debra said, patting Drake’s hand off her arm.

Soon enough, the police arrived and surrounded the area.

Drake sulked, “You called the cops?”

“Yes. To catch smugglers.”

Drake was frustrated, signaled to Kale, who quickly took the hint and led his team to retreat. Then Drake planned to slip away, but Debra grabbed him. “Mr. Lowe, don’t leave. You’re a

witness.

With the police getting closer, Drake hissed, “Let go of me.

“Take it easy. They’re not here for you,” Debra said.

“But they are cops.” Drake was seething with anger,

He was helping Debra here, but she brought in the cops. novelbin

“Why? You’re just a businessman doing legitimate business. What’s there to be afraid of? Without your identification, how would we prove they’re smuggling?”

“They’re armed. That’s enough to sentence them. Don’t drag me into this. I couldn’t care less about your business.”

“If you don’t, why are you helping me? Don’t worry. I know their boss. They won’t arrest you.”
