Chapter 1021
Finally, the whole family took their places, and the photo was taken. Everyone smiled for five seconds until the flash went off.
Amid applause and hugs, the families gathered there began making their way to the reception area.
Valerie, smiling, walked hand in hand with her husband, each carrying their respective baby, picking up the pace. She knew the effects of that chocolate bar would wear off soon, so without wasting any time, she took her seat at the table.
"Come on, grumpy...! I told you, you should've eaten something this morning!" Valerie said with a smile.
"I was nervous! I couldn't get anything down..." Marcus replied, embarrassed.
"Well, now you're going to eat, and I swear I'm making you finish everything. I don't want to hear any complaints tonight."
"Don't scold me... I'm feeling emotional..." Marcus said in a nostalgic tone.
"My love... Everything's going to be fine. Besides, we can always come visit her."
"But what is she going to do all alone? She's about to be a mom-she's going to need us!"noveldrama
"Honey, don't you remember? They've all lived on their own before and took care of little Adele when she was born. In fact, according to Serenity, Alden was the one who helped deliver the baby."
"Yeah, but it's not the same..."
"It is! Just trust your son-in-law... I do." Valerie said confidently.
"Mmm..."
"Relax! Look, the food's here, Mr. Grumpy." Valerie teased, watching her husband struggle between accepting his son-in-law and resisting.
To avoid any misunderstandings or conflicts among family and friends, the tables
had been arranged in a square formation, with the dance floor in the center, ready to be opened by the newlyweds' first dance.
John, Ethan, Maurice, and Ellie had placed them close to the bride and groom so they could have the best view of everything.
Side
On the same side sat the Bartzes. Marcus and Valerie were seated right after the children, joined by Frederick, Camille, and the
girls-Mira and Angel, who were supposedly the only ones aware of their mother's relationship with Marcus's loyal friend.
Across from them were the Evanses, led by the patriarch, Magnus, the great host and mediator. Next was Maximus, then Diana, Laura holding Adele, Emma, and
Paul, who couldn't take his eyes off young Amelia.
On the groom's side, Katherine sat with Nacho and Alden's mother's loyal companion. Further down were the Palmers and Bennetts-Peter happily holding his little Martina, who clung to him like a lifeline. On one side, he had Celeste with sweet Flóra, peacefully sleeping, and on
the other, Aria with Danielle.
Also seated at that table was Theodore, trying to act tough, but in moments when he thought no one was watching, he stole sweet glances at Fiona, who was thrilled to witness a Valentian wedding At the same table, slightly distracted on his phone, was Adam, who had recently
learned about stock market
investments and was already
fascinated.
Aurora, her husband, and their children sat on the bride's side, next to Regina and her newly arrived niece, Amelia.
Once everyone was seated, they watched as the radiant newlyweds arrived, looking deeply in love. They were welcomed with white flower petals, bubbles, and applause.
Serenity was wrapped in a stunning gown with layers of tulle and delicate gemstone embellishments, a masterpiece from Valerie's collection. The groom, on the other hand, was dressed in an all-black suit-his absolute favorite color.
Dinner went on as expected. It wasn't a grand reception, but those gathered were more than enough. They were, after all, the most important and beloved people in each family.
It was clear that Matthew wasn't there, but everyone understood that the man had finally decided to step away and rest. They all assumed he was somewhere on a beach, though only Magnus and Maximus knew the real truth.
The afternoon passed with toasts, conversations, laughter, and a few performances.
Eventually, Paul approached Amelia. Since they didn't speak the same language, they found a unique way to communicate.
Using Al, he typed his questions, which were instantly translated, allowing him and Amelia to have a conversation...
