No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric)

Chapter 463

Noelle had anticipated countless unexpected situations, but she'd never imagined the reporters to suddenly leave. That was truly surprising.

She glanced at the TG Public Relations team while Tilly stopped the last reporter and asked, "Excuse me, but why is everyone leaving?"

"I'm really sorry, Ms. Lozano. It's not that I'm being disrespectful here, but I just received a call from the higher-ups instructing me to leave."

"Can you at least tell me who gave that order?"

The reporter hesitated briefly and said, "Honestly, I find it strange as well. I'll ask around when I get back and let you know."

With that, the last reporter left.

Noelle sat in her chair and looked at Tilly. "Someone must've done it on purpose, but I don't think the Liddell family knows about this press conference. Who has the power to send all the media outlets away at the same time?"

She didn't believe the Liddells had that much influence in Yasnia. There had to be another reason.

Tilly thought about it and said, "I can think of someone who has that kind of influence-top journalist Salena Murray. Do you have any feud with the Cantrell family?"

"I don't know her, let alone have a conflict." She'd never crossed paths with Salena, not even in her past life.

"That's strange, but don't worry, Ms. Liddell. I'll investigate and find out what happened."

"Alright. Thank you." Just after Noelle thanked Tilly, she saw Donovan arriving with a large group.

Upon seeing him appear, she had a vague idea of what was happening. But since when did the Liddells have such a powerful influence? Something wasn't right.

Donovan walked straight up to Noelle and sat in the chair she'd just occupied. Then, he picked up the microphone and said, "Hello, everyone."

Noelle turned to him. "So this was your doing?"

"You're disappointing, Noelle. Since you went as far as to hold a press conference, you were going to expose Blake, weren't you? Too bad. You won't get the chance."

With that, Donovan grabbed Noelle's prepared speech and set it on fire, burning it to ashes. Then, he stared at her and continued, "We're family, and warned you not to make a scene. Yet, you refused to listen."

Noelle watched her script turn to ashes. "I must say, I'm surprised. I didn't think

the Liddell family had such great influence in Yasnia."noveldrama

Donovan sat down the microphone and spoke in a threatening tone, "Don't think about making any public statements, Noelle. No one will believe a word you say, and no one will come, just like today."

Standing nearby, Xenia feigned concern and said, "Why must you go against the

Liddells, Noelle? What good does it do you to destroy Blake?"

"Shut up. This is all your fault." Noelle had meticulously planned today's press

conference, yet everything hadn't gone according to plan.

For the first time today, she witnessed just how powerful influence and connections could be. Xenia immediately displayed a pitiful expression and fell silent.

Donvan angrily chimed in, "Xenia's right. The connections I built were

meant to investigate the truth

behind Mom and Dad's deaths, and now you're the reason everything is

in chaos. Do you still think you're not at fault?"

Xenia's expression changed instantly. What did Donovan mean by that? Was he

still investigating the car accident from all those years ago?

Did this mean Donovan suspected the accident was not what it seemed? Or

worse, did he suspect Sean was still alive?

Noelle thought back to her past life. As far as she knew, Donovan had never uncovered the truth, which was probably why she had never heard of any progress even before her death.

That meant Donovan was using their parents' death as an excuse to pressure her.

She glanced at Xenia. "Donovan, are you implying there was something suspicious about the car accident? If that's the case, doesn't that make Sean a suspect?"
