No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric)

Chapter 503

Gordon took his life? Noelle rushed to the basement in disbelief and found all the Liddells gathered.

Donovan stood at the door and watched Gordon's hanging corpse. Though he was frowning tightly, he felt relieved deep inside. They could pin all the blame on Gordon with the excuse that he'd taken his life just to escape punishment.

When Frank noticed Noelle approaching, he immediately stepped in front of her to block her view. "Don't look. You'll have nightmares."

Noelle's face was cold. "Gordon couldn't have killed himself."

For Xenia to have manipulated Gordon, she must've bribed him. How could a greedy man like him willingly take his life?

Blake asked, "Are you saying he was murdered?"

"That's impossible."

Donovan was the first to object. "If this was murder, who did it? Xenia is just a lady, and she couldn't have done this. Don't try to frame her."

Noelle smirked. "Couldn't she find help?"

Sure enough, the man backing Xenia had made a move.

Donovan fumed. "She's an orphan, so where could she have found such powerful assistance? Someone who'd even kill for her?"

Frank nodded in agreement. "Donovan has a point. Maybe Gordon did kill himself out of guilt."

After thinking about it, Donovan said, "We'll say Gordon stole valuables from the house. He embezzled a lot of money, and that can serve as evidence.

"We could say he tried to sneak into Noelle's room to steal something last night but ended up getting caught. Now he's taken his life after feeling too overwhelmed by guilt."

Frank nodded. "That works. Gordon's financial records have always been shady, but I turned a blind eye to it."

Noelle found his words ridiculous. How could a man with such a poor character be allowed to stay with the Liddells for years?

Blake's words voiced the thoughts in Noelle's mind. "Since you knew Gordon was no good, why did you keep him around?"

Frank cowered slightly under his questioning. "He's been with us for years, so firing him outright didn't seem appropriate. Plus, Xenia used to be close to him."

No one had expected Gordon to be such a dangerous man. Xenia rushed over. "Donovan, I heard Gordon took his life. Is it true?"

Donovan stopped her. "Yes. Don't go in. It's not a sight you'd want to see."

Xenia's eyes were red with tears. "I never thought he'd kill himself. Though I think he deserves it, it's still a life lost."

Deep down, she was relieved that Sean had taken care of the problem for her, but too bad she couldn't kill Noelle yet.

Noelle rolled her eyes. "Another act, huh?"

Blake stepped forward and shoved Xenia into the basement. "Since you care that much, why don't you take a good look at the dead Gordon?"

Xenia accidentally took a glance at Gordon's face and instantly screamed in horror. Her body went so limp that she could barely move. Anyone would be terrified to see a corpse.

Donovan quickly carried her out and glared at Blake. "That was too much."

"She was pretending to care about Gordon, wasn't she? Then she should've gotten a closer look."

Xenia lay weakly in Donovan's arms. Her face was pale, and she could

bra single word. It was the

first time she'd ever seen a dead body, one Sean had killed at that.

Noelle returned to the main hall. She hadn't expected Sean to make such a fast

move.

Taking out her phone, she texted the TG Public Relations team. "Check the surveillance around my horse. That person must've appeared again."noveldrama

This was the perfect opportunity to trace the clues back to Sean.

Donovan turned to Noelle and instructed, "When the police arrive, you and Xenia need to give

matching statements. Say that Gordon was caught stealing and killed himself in his guilt. Understood?"
