Chapter 1295 I Want to Stay by Your Side
Selena was in so much pain that she was starting to lose her grip on reality, but she still heard what Raymond said.
What did he understand?
She wanted to grab his sleeve harder, but he just held her tightly.
Selena felt like she was drowning, her whole body soaked.
Raymond turned to the two men nearby and asked, "Isn't there any pain medication? Won't it work?"
Victor glanced at Selena's face and then said, "I do have a painkiller, but it will only relieve the pain for three days. After that, the pain will double."
Christopher's alter ego gave him a surprised look. Anyone who could produce painkillers from the research base wasn't an ordinary person.
"Give it to her. I can't stand seeing her suffer anymore," Raymond said.
His voice was hoarse, watching Victor pull out a syringe.
Selena, summoning strength from who knew where, grabbed his wrist.
"Raymond, I don't want it. I know what you're planning. I don't want to go. I want to stay with you."
She used all her strength to say this, but she didn't realize how terrible she looked.
Her face was pale, and she was blind. She looked beyond disheveled.
How could Raymond bear to see the woman he loved like this?
"Selena, let's ease your pain first," Raymond said.
"I don't want it."
But as soon as she said it, she almost passed out.
Victor paused and asked Raymond again. "Are you sure? Are you planning to send her over when the painkiller wears off on the third day?"
Raymond nodded with difficulty. He had no other choice.
Selena had mentioned K before. Whatever his intentions, at least he would keep her alive. She also mentioned a leader, and now she was being punished for disobedience.
Raymond clenched his fist. He thought becoming the CEO of the Montague Group, partnering with Ralph, and taking over the underground fight club would be enough to protect the person he cared about most.
But now, it seemed he was still too weak.
He gently wiped Selena's forehead, palms, and neck with a tissue, his heart aching.

Victor administered the painkiller and warned, "Since you've decided, remember the exact time the effect wears off. Otherwise, the next wave of pain might drive her insane."
Raymond's eyes reddened, and he held her hand tightly.
"I know," he murmured.
He didn't even know who he was answering, just mumbling unconsciously.
Victor stood up and slowly packed his medical kit.
"Raymond, I have a surgery tonight, so I need to leave. I don't have more of this drug. I got it abroad by chance and never used it. I didn't expect it to come in handy here."
"I understand, Victor. Thank you."
Victor nodded, his uniform making him look unapproachable.noveldrama
He stood up, glanced at Christopher's alter ego, and left.
Christopher's alter ego stared at his back for a long time, trying to remember where he had seen him before.
Ralph's men, who had been waiting outside, came in and walked straight to Christopher's alter ego. "It's time to go."

Christopher's alter ego knew he hadn't been much help here, but he quickly said to Raymond. "Raymond, if I hand over that chip, I'm dead. Either I'm confined to Silver Bay City for life, which is a form of protection, or if I leave, I'll die. Didn't you think about my fate when you asked Ralph to deal with me?"
Raymond lowered his eyes, saying nothing.
A flicker of malice appeared in Christopher's alter ego's eyes. "I don't know why, but
I've always found you annoying. It would be great to get rid of you."
And that persistent Christopher. Every time he heard Christopher's voice or saw Raymond's face, he got agitated.
He kept asking Christopher for details about the human experiments, but Christopher remained tight-lipped.
If he hadn't seen Selena today, Christopher might have stayed silent forever.
Damn it!
He was so angry he wanted to kill someone, but he couldn't beat Raymond or kill Christopher. It was infuriating!
Raymond's gaze stayed fixed on Selena.
Her furrowed brow was slowly relaxing, and her face softened. The painkiller was working.
Raymond sighed in relief, lifted her in his arms, and carried her to the upstairs bathroom, placing her in a bathtub filled with warm water.
She had been drenched in sweat.
What do you think?
