Revenge is Best Served… After Reborn

Chapter 1843

Odie thought Griffin was just shooting the breeze, not taking him seriously at all. But when the other groups started tearing into each other, Odie realized that despite being like brothers, the fight for survival would pit them against each other in a brutal competition.

Colby was something else—both sharp as a tack and strong as an ox, way beyond everyone else in their crew who were scraping by from the bottom of the barrel. Sometimes, Odie couldn't help but wonder where Colby really came from. He didn't fit the mold of a kid from the rough side of town. He was savvy, breezing through high society's manners and games like he was born to it, even outplaying the old hands.

In just half a year, Colby had already caught the eye of Mr. Elwood as his top pick for a successor. Fiona, wide-eyed with curiosity, leaned in and asked, "Odie, what happened after that? How did it all shake out?"

Odie exhaled a cloud of smoke, his face darkening. "What happened next? He turned on Griffin and me."

Fiona, now even more intrigued, pressed further, "How did he do it?"

"Ask your dad," Odie replied, leaning back and clenching his teeth at the memory. Even after twenty years, he couldn't let go of the betrayal. They had always seen each other as brothers, making the betrayal cut deep. If Colby had just been a rival, they wouldn't have held a grudge for all these years.

"Hey, Gigi, they can't outdrink me!" Elodie chirped, her cheeks flushed as she leaned into Griffin's arms. Griffin sighed, "Let's get you home."noveldrama

"Who says they can't? I wasn't even trying! Twenty years ago, you'd be stuck at the kids' table with that kind of drinking!" Jenna, equally rosy-cheeked, gestured even more wildly than Elodie.

Adler, steadying Jenna, chuckled, "Aren't we a bit past the age for this much booze? Come on, let's head home!" With that, Adler called out to Alec, "Son! Grab the car keys!"

In a quick toss, Adler sent the keys flying to Alec, who deftly caught them. Harold chimed in, "If everyone's had a bit too much, why not just crash here? I'll sort out the rooms."

"Oh, I wouldn't want to impose,"

Adler said, but in the next breath, he

was already hoisting Jenna up, adding, "Get my room ready first.

They can keep going for a couple more rounds." swnovel

Harold had the maid get the rooms ready. When everything was set, he teased Adler, "Think you still remember the way after all these years?"

"Never could forget!" Adler replied, wobbling up the stairs with Jenna on his back. Alec glanced at the keys in his hand, then quietly slipped them into his pocket.

Not far away, Fiona was itching to dig into her dad's legendary stories from back in the day, but Griffin and Odie weren't spilling any beans. So, Fiona decided to take her questions to Harold. swnovel

Seizing a moment when no one was watching, Fiona sidled up to Harold, whispering, "Uncle, do you know how amazing my dad was back in the day?" "Why are you asking?" Harold replied.

"I just want to know. Please, spill the beans!" Fiona pleaded, tugging at Harold's

arm.

After a moment's thought, Harold said, "When I was young, your dad was my hero."

"Really?" Fiona's eyes widened.

Harold continued, "Your dad came over to Devonport from overseas and was like a brother to mine. Back then, didn't know much, but had heard whispers about Colby's wild adventures overseas." swnovel
