Revenge is Best Served… After Reborn

Chapter 1846

"Daughter can be given to him, but the wife is mine."

Colby planted a gentle kiss on Sophie's forehead and murmured, "You know I've done everything I can."

Feelings weren't something that came naturally to him. When their daughter was born, he couldn't quite wrap his head around the happiness that most people seem to experience. For him, it was always about Sophie. Only with her did he feel like a person with emotions, rather than some kind of robot.

He recalled his early years, when both his parents were still around. After being told he lacked emotions, they showered him with even more affection. But it was a sentiment he couldn't really grasp. Not until he met Sophie.

Back then, Sophie was just a sweet little girl. One day, he tagged along with his parents to visit the Russell family. Sophie was this rosy-cheeked, adorable child. That was the first time he felt the magic of life. Even after all these years, he never forgot that moment.

Fast forward to the auction entrance, and there she was again. Adler mentioned she was Sophie, the Russell family's heiress. It hit him-she was that charming little girl from years ago. Maybe it was just curiosity, or perhaps an instant connection he felt when he first saw her. As he got to know her, he found himself falling for Sophie. This affection might not be what most people would recognize as love, but he knew she was as vital to him as air. He was like a man on the brink of drowning—and a drowning man can't do without air.

In the dim light, Sophie's eyes sparkled with the same brilliance they had when she was younger. She looked at Colby and said, "We'll keep moving forward, no matter what. I'll always be by your side."

They had faced life and death, weathered every storm together. Their souls were intertwined, inseparable. They were wrapped up in each other, bodies entwined as they savored each other's presence. A couple of drinks can make one lose themselves in the heat of the moment. With Fiona away, they clung to each other for what seemed like forever. It wasn't until dawn that Colby finally let go.

Sophie, worn out, was carried to the bathroom by Colby. Leaning against her aching back, she sighed, "I'm too old for this. We can't keep doing it like we used to."

Colby chuckled, "Then let me do the heavy lifting from now on, you just enjoy."noveldrama

Sophie frowned, "No chance! Letting you take over is even worse!"

People say women in their thirties are like wolves and in their forties

like tigers, but she felt like Colby was

the one who was truly insatiablen

Adler once said Colby was the e

epitome of self-control, but

what Sophie could see, that was far from the truth.

"I can't let Fiona catch me looking like this. At my age, it's just too embarrassing."

In her younger days, Sophie didn't have a shred of modesty around Colby. Whether it was the balcony kitchen, living room, or bathroom when dove struck, they didn't hold back. But after her fortieth birthday, Sophie became more reserved. Fiona was growing up, and it wasn't as easy to pull the wool over her eyes.

Once, after waiting for Fiona to fall asleep, Sophie and Colby snuck off to a hotel, When they got back, Fiona was in the living room, eyes full of Suspicion, questioning what they'd been up to. The poor kid thought they'd just gone out for a midnight snack. Little did she know, they had indulged in more than just food.

"With Fiona heading to Eastwood College soon, it might be time for her to have her own space."

Colby pondered, "Maybe she could stay at Adler's place? They're hardly ever home anyway."
