Chapter 909
Harvey Ramos? Yvette narrowed her eyes in curiosity as she had never heard the name before.
In contrast, Theodore's face darkened, shock overtaking him. "What did you just say? Harvey has been dead for years. How could it possibly be him?"
Wesley shook his head and explained, "I-I'm not sure. The night Mrs. and Ms. Maximillian were killed, I rushed to their room after hearing the screams. I saw Harvey standing there."
He hesitated for a moment, his expression twisting with guilt.
"Harvey made me frame Arthur. He threatened to wipe out my entire family if I didn't cooperate. But if I followed through, he promised me five million dollars. At the time, my son had gambling debts, and I couldn't save him. The creditors wanted to take his life. I had no choice but to betray my conscience!noveldrama
"I'm sorry, Mr. Maximillian. I've lived with regret every single day. After I paid off my son's debts with that money, he didn't learn his lesson. He gambled even more recklessly. In the end, he was beaten to death at the casino.
"My wife couldn't take the blow. Her health deteriorated, and she passed away two years ago. I'm terminally ill and don't have much time left. It's all my karma coming back to haunt me."
Theodore's knees weakened. If Xavier hadn't rushed to steady him, he might have collapsed on the ground. "It was Harvey all along. He killed my wife and
daughter."
"Mr. Maximillian." Yvette quickly stepped forward to check Theodore's pulse. However, he gently stopped her.
"I'm fine," he assured.
Yvette concealed her concern and asked, "Who is Harvey Ramos?"
The question brought a flicker of pain to Theodore's face. He closed his eyes briefly before finally speaking.
"Harvey was one of the greatest minds of our generation-a brilliant scientist. We met during a research project, bonded over our shared vision and became close friends. Not long after, he approached me with an idea for a revolutionary experiment.
"If successful, it could have transformed society. Back then, I was young and idealistic, so I agreed to join him without hesitation. But as the research progressed, his methods turned darker, more ruthless. Eventually, he began using human test subjects. I couldn't
ve
stand by and watch. We had a
terrible argument, and I left the
project for good.
"After leaving the country, I met Bianca, married her, and we had a daughter. Then came the news that Harvey had died. With his death, his monstrous experiments had come to an end."
Theodore's expression was a mixture of pain and confusion. "He hated me so he killed my wife and daughter for revenge. But why did he frame Arthur?"
Suddenly, Wilson said solemnly, "Perhaps it was revenge. My father was the one who once put a stop to his research experiments."
