"Would I even be calling you about it if it was something that could be fixed?"
"Since she's your friend, you should talk to her when you get the chance! Not having kids isn't necessarily a bad thing, she needs to see the brighter side of things." Calvin couldn't quite put his finger on how he was feeling at the moment, so he just responded nonchalantly.
"Yeah, okay, got it."
After hanging up with his mother, he initially thought about texting Felicity to check in on her situation.
But once he had WhatsApp opened, Calvin hesitated.
It felt too intrusive to ask about such a personal issue. If she hadn't brought it up herself, it likely meant she didn't want people poking around.
Why should he be the one to prod a sensitive topic?
What Calvin didn't expect was for Felicity to actually call him the next day around lunchtime!
Seeing her number pop up on his screen, he almost thought he was hallucinating.
She wasn't usually the type to reach out first, regardless of who it was.
"Calvin, are you free?"

"I'm not joking. If you're available, I get off in half an hour. Wanna grab lunch?" Felicity's voice had an edge of seriousness, "There's something I want to discuss with you."
Calvin immediately thought of his mother's words, figuring she needed someone to lean on.
Without a second thought, he replied, "Sure! Just send me the location, I'll head over right now."

After hanging up, Calvin pushed aside his work and drove to the meeting spot.

On Felicity's end, she had wrapped up her reports and managed to get

The place she had chosen was an Italian bistro.
Finding authentic Italian cuisine in this part of town was a challenge, and this spot was one of the decent ones!

Felicity nodded, walked over, and pulled out a chair to sit.
"What are you in the mood for? My treat!" Calvin immediately offered her the menu.

Calvin raised his eyebrows, "You're acting unusual today."
He could almost label her demeanor today as "elegant" and "formal"!
"Really? Maybe it's because the topic I want to discuss is somewhat serious."
Calvin straightened up, still smiling, "Go ahead, I'm all ears!"

Felicity felt a bit awkward but knew the conversation was inevitable.
"My parents bought me a place here, they want me to live on my own! Oh, and since this is technically breaking my lease, you don't have to worry about the deposit. I'll cover the rent until you find someone new.
Calvin's prepared speech got stuck in his throat, leaving him speechless for a good moment.
After a pause, he finally managed to ask, "So... you're moving in with him?"
Felicity shook her head, looking down, "No, he's only staying in Anglonia for another month before going back home."
