Chapter 1740
"Aurora!"
She was just about to get in her car when Craig, with his long legs, sprinted over and blocked her path.
"Get out of the car."
Aurora frowned slightly and rolled down her window. "Craig, I've got something urgent at the studio. Let me through."
"Get out," he repeated, stubborn as ever.
Aurora pressed her lips together, her tone growing cold. "Move, Craig."
"I'm not moving."
When it came to being stubborn, no one could outdo Craig.
Even when Aurora started her engine, he didn't so much as flinch. He just stood there, arms crossed, right in her way.
She couldn't believe this!
With a chilly expression, Aurora pushed open the door and stepped out. "Craig, I'm leaving. That's my call. You've got plenty of people here to help you, and you don't need me for anything. So I'm going to take care of my stuff, and I don't see what the problem is."noveldrama
"I need you," he said quietly.
"I think you need Magnolia more," Aurora shot back.
A heavy silence fell between them.
Even after all these years, Aurora still remembered what led to their divorce. It was a feeling she couldn't quite put into words.
It wasn't about being jealous or petty about Craig and Magnolia. She just couldn't stand Magnolia-someone who'd chased after Craig even when she knew Aurora and he were together. People like that, with no boundaries, had always rubbed her the wrong way, and that hadn't changed.
"You know why I'm here,” Aurora said flatly. "Your mom was always good to me: I'm here for her, because we had our own relationship. It's got nothing to do with you. Besides, we're divorced. You're single, you can see whoever you want." She paused, her face unreadable, as if she was talking about someone else's life. “You're not going to stay single forever. If Magnolia likes you, you two being together is perfectly normal."
Craig's brows drew together, his voice tight with frustration, but he seemed lost for words.
"I don't like her!" he finally blurted out.
"That's not something I need to hear. It's got nothing to do with me."
Craig, out of options, stepped forward and grabbed Aurora's wrist. "Aurora, you're
it for me. There's never going to be anyone else."
He couldn't even imagine being with another woman. Not Magnolia, not anyone.
"Craig-"
Just then, Magnolia's voice rang out behind them.
Both Craig and Aurora turned instinctively.
"Why do you keep chasing after her, Craig? She's never appreciated you!" Magnolia said, her eyes shining with hurt. "Your mom just passed, everyone's here to support
you except her. She's just throwing a tantrum, walking away when you need her most! She doesn't care about how you feel. Why-"
"This is my family's business. Not yours," Craig cut in coldly, stepping in front of Aurora protectively. "I appreciate you coming to pay your respects to my mom, Magnolia, but my personal life is none of your concern. Please leave."
"I'm not leaving!" Magnolia shot back, pointing an accusatory finger at Aurora. "She's a spoiled little princess, Craig. She already walked out on you! Wake up- she never really cared. You were just a plaything to her!"
"Enough!" Craig's face darkened.
Aurora tugged Craig's arm from behind, her voice calm and dismissive. "Let her say whatever she wants, Craig. Don't waste your breath arguing."
Honestly, Aurora couldn't even be bothered to argue with Magnolia. It was just a waste of time.
What do you think?
