The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage

Chapter 2631

A case in point was the lunarise root, which was said to promote longevity and was therefore exceedingly valuable.

Eric just so happened to be doing his rounds when he picked up the special scent of bee honey wrapped in bean curd detailed in anthologies. Not only was he surprised to see how masterful Frank was in cooking medicine, but he also realized that he had stumbled upon treasure, which was why he acted strangely.

In the end, just as Frank said, he wanted the lunarise root for himself so that he could live a little longer!

"Word of advice. Any person should lead upstanding lives, or you'd end up dead in a ditch for your treachery."

With that, Frank started to leave.

Zark hurried after him, not forgetting to diss Eric as he passed the hospital chief, "Use your brain. Would we not know what we're doing if we got the medicine in the first place? Do you think that everyone is as dumb as you are?"

His words sent Eric flying into a rage. "Hold it! Setting a fire is a violation of hospital safety protocols! Shouldn't you answer for that?"

Zark smirked. "Answer for that? I don't mind giving it to you straight-no one gets to punish another man except the police. Even if we've broken a rule, you could call the cops on us.

"What, were you hoping for a bribe? Don't even think about it! Do you think we're so stupid that we wouldn't know how the law works? You're kidding! You're not the only smart person in this world, so you should be wondering how you'd explain what you just did to the security guard!"

That only left Eric even more furious, and he bellowed at the security guard, "Arrest those men!"

The security guard sighed in exasperation-he simply worked here! Why should he get into a fight for that?noveldrama

Moreover, he had no authority to do that he was just a glorified door guard, and it was up to the police who could boss anyone around.

Also, Frank was capable of telekinesis, clearly more than able to handle a sixtyish retiree like him!

That left Eric fuming. "What are you spacing out for?! I'll fire you, believe it!" Forget the two men dissing him-even the security guard refused to obey him?

Nonetheless, the security guard was now furious as well. "Actually, they just reminded me... this is a public hospital. Do you have any right to fire me?

"Also, I'm just a security guard-l could find the same job elsewhere anyway. But it's the first time I've met anyone as horrible as you, telling me to fight when you've clearly made a mistake! How does that even make sense?"

Zark laughed at the security guard's outburst and yelled at Eric, "I'm sorry, chief,

but you don't look like you have much authority!

"See, authority isn't a stick that you swing around as you like, and you can't expect obedience just because you stand above everyone else. It's the twenty-first century-jobs are everywhere, so why work someplace you're uncomfortable with?

Eric snarled, "You asked for it! Just wait this isn't over yet!"

As he stormed off, the security guard hurried to Frank and Zark. "Forgive me for speaking out of turn, but the hospital chief has connections. You should leave!"

Zark nodded. "You're right. As

hospital chief, he'd definitely have certain privileges, and the rich and important would definitely suck up to him. But so what? Does he really have the balls to attack us in public?

"Hell, even if he calls up some thugs, I really doubt that I can't win against them! That isn't the case for you, sir-you're a local, so you shouldn't stay around for

this."
