Chapter 221
Upon hearing about the eyesight issue, Robert's face paled. Lately, he'd been experiencing episodes where his vision went dark, and things sometimes looked blurry. Robert had checked his eyesight at the hospital, but nothing untoward showed up on the tests.
After hearing Matthew's words, Robert suddenly realized how serious it could be. "What can I do to fix my vision?"
After asking that, Robert immediately regretted it. The goal of the meeting was to take down Wealthwave Group and eliminate traditional medicine, but he ended up asking for treatment. With a grim expression, Sheldon coldly warned, "We're in a meeting room, not a hospital, Robert. If you're sick, get yourself to a hospital instead of staying here."
Robert was so freaked out that he didn't know what to do. Sheldon promoted him to be a secretary-general, so he couldn't imagine the consequences of getting on Sheldon's bad side. Upon seeing this, Matthew chuckled and said, "This meeting is about health improvements in Lambda City, and it looks like people here need medical care.
"If you're against treating them, I don't mind. After all, I'm not the one suffering the illnesses and pain."
Sheldon's expression darkened. Matthew's words had set him against everyone here. If he didn't back down, everyone would hold a grudge against him.
For a moment, Sheldon didn't know how to handle the situation. The people getting diagnosed earlier were all hesitant to speak up.
Seeing no one else stepping up, Gerald cleared his throat and made his stance clear. "I'm really struggling with my illness. I need him to treat me and provide me the prescriptions." With someone taking the lead, the rest followed suit. This made Sheldon clench his teeth in anger. Seeing how things were getting out of hand, he decided to call for a vote.
"Settle down, everyone. We can sort out the medical issues after the meeting. Right now, we need to start voting, and then you're free to go. I'll be over in just a minute."
Matthew was surprised Sheldon wasn't giving up, so he just walked up to the front stage. "Remember the libido issue we talked about earlier? Modern medicine can't fix it, but traditional medicine can.
"Similarly, traditional medicine can
help with visual impairment too. Traditional medicine is better than you think. Everyone gets sick at
some point, so why not give yourself a chance to stay healthy?"
Sheldon snapped. "What are you doing up here, Matthew? This is a meeting for the Pharmaceutical Association."
Ignoring Sheldon, Matthew looked at
the people below the stage and said, "Some people here have minor health issues. They don't seem. serious now, but leaving them unattended will make things worse.

"The meeting today is absurd. If you vote to ban traditional medicine, you're just digging your own graves. As a dector, I won't treat those who are bent on running themselves down."
The people below the stage exchanged glances among themselves. Then, Gerald, who was the first to speak up earlier, stepped up. "I'm opting out of this vote today." Donald followed suit and stood up. "I'm not voting either. Traditional medicine has been around for so long for a reason."
"Traditional medicine is pretty great in my books. The fact that it doesn't have side effects is something modern medicine just can't compete with." "Count me out of the vote as well."
After a moment of hesitation, Robert announced his stance. "I believe traditional medicine should be preserved."
Seeing that even Robert had changed his mind, Sheldon was livid. With the majority opposing his idea, Sheldon knew his plan had fallen through.
Sheldon tightly clenched his fist, his gaze fixed on Matthew. His anger boiled over, and all he wanted was to punch Matthew in the face.
He had never felt the urge to kill someone as much as he did at that moment. If it weren't for all these people around, he would have gone for it.
As Sheldon locked eyes with Matthew, the meeting room went completely silent. It felt like two tigers staring each other down, neither willing to back down. Everyone could feel the tension in the air between them, and no one dared to make a sound.
