Chapter 574 Double Date
Natalie stared at the big screen, but her mind wasn't on the movie at all. Suddenly, she said, "Olivia, let's go on a date tomorrow."
"I'm in!" Olivia agreed immediately. "My latest project just wrapped up, and my manager gave me a break. Mason was going to take me somewhere fun, but I figured I'd stay close and spend some time with my parents instead."
She suggested, "Nat, how about this-tomorrow, you bring Marcus, I'll bring Mason, and we'll all go fishing?"
"That sounds perfect!" Natalie chuckled. "Let's find somewhere scenic, set up tents, and bring all the gear for a cookout. We'll catch and toss the fish straight onto the grill-as fresh as it gets."
"Fresh is the name of the game," she added with a grin.
Olivia burst out laughing. "Those fish are gonna see you and think they've met the Grim Reaper. Before they even know what hit them, they'll be gutted and sizzling in hot oil."
Natalie laughed too, picturing the whole scene. "I mean, you're not wrong. But hey, fresh and tasty-that's the whole point, right?"
Olivia nodded. "No one's fresher than you, Nat. You're the queen of freshness. Alright, time to sleep!" Olivia grabbed the remote and switched off the TV.
Natalie teased, "Goodnight, future sister-in-law."
They did not say another word after that, and Natalie drifted off to sleep quickly. However, Olivia could not fall asleep. She picked up her phone, dimmed the screen, muted it, and started texting Mason.
Olivia: "Babe, are you still awake?"
Mason: "Yeah, just got chewed out. I need a hug from you."
Olivia: "What happened? Did you mess up after Nat and I left?"
Mason: "Not exactly. I just didn't tell them about us. My parents found out and gave me a whole lecture. Told me not to disappoint you, said I'd better graduate soon, build my career, and marry you already."
Mason: "My mom also warned me not to get you pregnant before marriage. Said you're a model, and your career's just taking off. I'm not allowed to mess up your future in any way."
Mason: "Honestly, I feel like you're their real daughter, and I'm the one who got adopted."
Olivia: "Aww, don't cry! Here's a virtual hug!"
Mason: "Olivia, are you asleep? Want to sneak into my room? I need some love and kisses."
Olivia: "Venmo me 50 bucks, or I'm screenshotting this and sending it to Mrs. Walker."
Mason was exasperated, but he still replied, "Fine. Sending 52,000 dollars now. Please, Olivia. Don't tell my mom."
Olivia could not help laughing. She opened her sticker pack and sent Mason a bunch of hugs and kisses emojis.
Olivia: "So, Nat and I made plans for tomorrow. She's bringing Marcus, I'm bringing you, and we're doing a double date."
Mason: "Yes! I'm in! Finally, You're making our relationship official!"
Olivia: "Go to sleep, babe. If you're late tomorrow, I'll break your legs."
Mason: "Okay, okay. Goodnight, Olivia."
Olivia: "Night."
After saying goodnight, Olivia placed her phone on the wireless charger by the bed and went to sleep.
...
At 7:00 am the next morning, Olivia woke up on time. Meanwhile, Natalie was still fast asleep beside her, breathing softly.
Back when Natalie used to stay over at Olivia's place, the two of them would always sleep in. Her parents never woke them, knowing how hard they worked and studied. They would even make them breakfast before heading off to work.
And now, when Olivia stayed at the Walker residence, William and Charlotte were just as sweet and respectful. They never pushed her to Wake up early, but even so she felt a little awkward sleeping in the way she did at her own place.
Olivia tiptoed out of bed, trying not to wake Natalie. However, even her quietest movement triggered a reaction. The moment she lifted the blanket, Natalie opened her eyes.
"Olivia, you're up," Natalie mumbled with a yawn, snuggling deeper beneath the covers.
"Sorry, did I wake you?" Olivia asked guiltily. "Nat, you can go back to sleep if you're still tired."noveldrama
"Nah, it's fine," Natalie said as she sat up. "We did say we were going on a date today, right? I'm calling Marcus now."
She grabbed her phone from the nightstand and dialed. "Hey, Marcus. You still up for that date today? Me, you, Mason, and Olivia-double date, remember?"
Marcus agreed instantly. "Sounds good. I'll come pick you up."
Alright, I'll wait for you at home," Natalie replied, then started ruffling her hair. "Olivia, help me out. What should I wear today?"
"A bikini," Olivia replied without missing a beat. "We're going fishing, right? If you can't catch one with a rod, you'll just have to jump in and grab it yourself." Natalie blinked. "Seriously?"
"I'm kidding!" Olivia laughed, giving her friend's cheek a playful pinch. "You're tall, gorgeous, and your skin glows. You could wear a trash bag and still look like a runway model. Come on, I'll help you pick something out."
Excited now, Olivia pulled Natalie off the bed and into the walk-in closet. William and Charlotte adored Natalie, and her closet was filled with the latest designer collections. Some pieces she had not even worn before they were swapped out för newer arrivals.
Natalie's porcelain skin and perfect proportions meant she looked stunning in everything. Olivia, being a model herself, had the height and figure too, but she never wore Natalie's clothes.
It was not about the fit but rather about respect. No matter how close they were, even if they shared everything, Olivia would never just grab something that was not hers.
"This one!" Olivia exclaimed, pulling out a light blue fitted dress with a cinched waist and a hem that hit the knee. The bodice was form-fitting, and the tailored cut accentuated Natalie's curves beautifully.
She said, "I'll curl your hair and do your makeup. Marcus is going to be completely floored when he sees you."
Natalie chuckled. "Marcus has seen all kinds of women, so he's not going to turn into a lovesick fool over me."
"That's where you're wrong," Olivia replied with a knowing smile. "Nat, you seriously have no clue how gorgeous you are. Trust me."
Then, she dragged Natalie to the bathroom to freshen up and helped her into the
dress before sitting her down at the vanity. Olivia got to work curling her hair and
doing her makeup.
Natalie let Olivia take the reins
Olivia
without complaint. With Natalie's
flawless skin, Olivia did not even need to apply much. A light, dewy look enhanced her features, and the soft waves added a touch of elegance to her natural charm Her eyes held that perfect mix of innocence and mystery.
Olivia stepped back to admire her work and smiled in satisfaction. "Almost done. Since we're going fishing, forget the heels. We're going with clean white sneakers. They go with everything and keep the vibe young and fresh." Natalie did not argue. She let Olivia pick the shoes and bag too, while Olivia herself opted for a sporty look with a sleek athleisure fit and a high ponytail. "Let's go," Olivia said, slinging a large gym-style backpack over her shoulder.
For Natalie, she picked a light blue crossbody bag-just big enough for her phone, wallet, keys, and some tissues. The whole look screamed effortless, elegant, and put-together.
Natalie glanced at Olivia's spacious bag, then down at her own tiny one. Without a word, she lunged forward and tried to swap bags. "Let's trade."
