54. A Vow

He gives me a beautiful smile that makes me all lightheaded as he caresses my cheek.

"Is the cabrón not going to be here?" Enrique asks, a slight frown on his face as he glances at Dad.

"I've mind-linked him. Continue, he'll be here for his sister." Dad's voice is grim, and I know his annoyance is directed at Dante.

Once again, I fall a little harder for Enrique. After what Dante did, he's still thinking about me. He really is considerate of me. He now turns to me, and I'm graced with that charming gaze as he takes my hand, kissing my palm softly.

How can you not love a man like him?

I take a deep breath, exhaling slowly.

This is it, time to sever my link with my pack for good and join my forever pack. I look over at them all, my eyes lingering on Mama and Dad.

We're going to miss mind-linking with you, honey.' Mama's voice comes into my mind as she smiles at me.

I nod, as Dad simply gives me a small crooked smile, his eyes glittering red. I take a deep, shaky breath, but it has nothing to do with doubt. This is my home.

"Do you, Kataleya Tamia Rossi, take me, Enrique Ignacio Escarra, as your Alpha and accept the title of my Luna?" Enrique asks. I feel Dante's presence and see him from the corner of my eyes.

"I, Kataleya Tamia Rossi, take you, Alpha Enrique Ignacio Escarra, as my Alpha and agree to stand by your side as your Luna," I answer, gazing up at Enrique.

"And do you agree to take the Fuego de Ceniza pack as your own, to protect, nurture and honour? To accept this pack as your home and your family?"

"I do. I accept the Fuego de Ceniza pack as my own, to always protect, nurture, honour and love for the rest of my life. I accept this pack as my home and every single member as my family," I answer softly, my heart thumping. my stomach filled with butterflies as I gaze into the eyes of my love.

I've role-played this moment so many times, yet no dream can mirror the emotions I am feeling.

Enrique takes the dagger that sits on the table, creating an incision in his hand before he takes my hand that he had kissed moments earlier, and looks into my eyes with a silent apology before he creates a small cut.

My heart thumps as we shake hands, combining our blood, and I feel one pack link snap and another one takes its place. The sensation rushes through me, making me gasp. He kisses my hand, sending a tingle through me. I can feel all his emotions, his feelings for me. Everything. And it takes my breath away.

Welcome home, Mi Amor.' I close my eyes as his voice sounds in my head and I fling my arms around his neck. He instantly lifts me up, spinning me around as he buries his face in my neck, inhaling deeply.

"I love you," I whisper as everyone claps, and I'm welcomed in the pack

"I love you too, Mi Amor."

Happiness is so beautiful, and right now I'm so, so happy.

The moment Enrique places me down, Jose is the first to welcome me, taking my hand and kissing it, earning a glare from Enrique.

"Welcome, Luna," he says, as Carlos welcomes me next. One by one, all the men of our pack do the same, although none dare touch me after Enrique's frown deepens after Jose's antics.

After that, Mama hugs me and I meet them all before finally looking at Dante, who is leaning against the wall just outside the office.

"Thank you," I answer. He gives me a small smile just as Carlos calls me.

"I'm thinking you should say hi through the mind-link to the pack. Everyone will be so happy to know you are now officially part of the pack"

"That's a lovely idea," I say as I smile at Enrique, who is watching me with such adoration and pride that I can't help but blush all over again.

You need to stop looking at me like that, My Love,' I say softly.

"How can I when you look so fucking beautiful?' he replies seductively, his eyes sparkling with a hint of mischief. Oh, Kike, you really are my dream come true.

The sun is dipping behind the trees, and the moments in which I had forgotten about the pending battle have now disappeared.

"There's a small chance that maybe, just maybe, nothing happens tonight?" Skyla suggests as I work on opening the suitcase Leo has sent for me.

"I can feel the shift in the air. Something is happening tonight," Raihana says grimly. She's got her hair wrapped up into a tight bun, making sure not even a strand is out of place, dressed all in black. Delsanra is the only one fully dressed already in black pants, and a black top with a protective jacket. Both had spent all afternoon drawing wards and casting protection spells.

I flip open the suitcase, my eyes widening before I let out a little shriek, "Oh my goddess! No way!"

"What is it?" Skyla asks, instantly by my side. Unlike the rest of us, she isn't going to change since she has an armour she can summon forth.

"Oh my goddess, I have got to call Leo!" I exclaim as I look around for my phone until Skyla shoves hers in front of me.

"I'm curious what it is," she muses, looking into the case, but all that can be seen is the card that lies on top of the beige matt box. I stare at the card as the phone rings. Even Malevolent has come over to look.

"I thought I'd get a call-"

"Kat! Sky! Have I missed you girls? I damn well have!" Azura cuts Leo off. I giggle as I smile at her.

"We miss you too," I answer.

"Na, she's lying. She's been busy with her man." Skyla teases.

I shake my head. "It has been busy, but it doesn't mean I didn't miss you."

"And she called for me," Leo says pointedly. The phone moves until I see Leo's face, frowning and cold as ever, a deception because he is a person who really cares.

"You added the blush pink tone too," I say, feeling emotional as I pick up the card. The satin shine to the ivory letter holds the faintest hint of pink.

"Yeah, it's only fair since it's what you wanted, and this concept was yours."

"Come on, open it. I haven't seen the finished product," Azura adds curiously.

"Yeah, either open that box or I will, and what the hell is Schattenblüte?"

"It's derived from Shadow Blossoms, it's in German," I explain.

"Shadows as in... Leo, and blossoms for you. I love it," Azura adds. Delsanra, Raihana and Mama now come over and Leo cocks a brow.

"I see there's a fucking audience."

"Yes, because we're curious. Now open the box," Raihana says, the last part is aimed at me.

My heart thumps as I slowly lift the box out, it's heavy, I place it on the bed and look at the little glowing fingerprint scanner. I press my thumb to it and a ripple of white glowing lines appear across the box before it

opens by itself.

"That's fancy," Raihana says.

"I agree..." Delsanra chips in, her eyes wide.

I feel nervous as I slowly reach for the gold belt that sits in the centre of the box.

"What is that?" Skyla asks. The moment I touch it, the gold metal catches the light, shining.

"State-of-the-art armour."
