Chapter 241
Just as she entered the living room, Evelyn saw Lucas sitting in the dining area, eating oatmeal. He was watching his iPad as he did so.
Evelyn didn't expect him to return. He even finished the portion that she had made. Hadn't he already eaten with Tiffany?
Sensing Evelyn's gaze, Lucas looked over and asked, "What is it?"
He didn't seem to understand why she looked at him with such an expression.
She frowned but didn't respond. She turned and walked toward the bedroom to get the gift Maria had prepared for her.
Nothing in the room had changed. The personal items she had left there earlier were still in place.
The gift Maria had prepared was a diamond-studded ladies' wristwatch.noveldrama
Evelyn knew of the brand somewhat and was aware that the watch wasn't cheap. However, this was a sincere gift from Maria, so she didn't dwell on it and accepted
it.
As she came out of the bedroom and opened the door, she heard Lucas' deep voice from the end of the hallway.
Lucas: "Yeah, there's a lot to handle during the prep stage."
Lucas: "The Moores? Her mother helped contribute 50 million dollars. In addition
to Tiffany's technical shares, that gives her 40% equity. We're reserving 20% for the option pool. I'll arrange for additional execs to join later."
Evelyn stopped in her tracks, a little surprised.
Millie had invested that much money in Tiffany. However, thinking about it, it made
sense.
Even with Tiffany contributing technical shares, she would still have to undergo a professional technical evaluation if she started the company without capital investment and relied on Lucas' financial backing. Even then, she might not have a significant share.
Millie had considered this, so she went all in.
Due to the Flying Seal Group's presence, Lucas made a quiet and calculated
move.
Now, Tiffany had flipped her status to become the head, she could finally sit at the same table as Sebastian and the others. Things were thus no longer the same.
While Evelyn was deep in thought, Lucas had already ended the call. He turned to face her, his dark eyes locking onto her expression.
He leaned lazily against the wall. "Did you hear all that?"
He was referring to the phone call earlier.
Evelyn looked up, pursed her lips, and didn't respond. She didn't ask questions, express confusion, or show any curiosity.
Even though she knew full well that Lucas was helping the Moores set up a company and it was a direct challenge to Flying Seal Group, she couldn't be bothered to argue with him. Given the situation, there was no point in questioning him.
Quietly looking at him, she asked instead, "Once the cooling-off period is over, do I need to specifically remind you? I want to set a clear time to go to the courthouse."
She was following up on the matter that hadn't been clearly addressed on the phone.
This matter was of utmost importance. There could be no ambiguity, so it had to be discussed clearly.
Lucas merely glanced at her, his gaze cold.
After a moment, he checked his watch and replied, "Just contact Michael."
Evelyn could tell he was about to end the conversation, but there was still something she wasn't certain of. She asked immediately, "What should I do if I can't contact him when the time comes?"
This wasn't something that hadn't happened before.
Michael, like Lucas, was always busy and had countless things to deal with. Besides, he had often ignored her calls in the past. With that precedent, she had no choice but to be cautious.
Lucas had just walked up beside her. Hearing that, he halted his stride and looked at her from the corner of his eye. "Do you need my number?"
What do you think?
