The Queen Returns—And She's Unforgiving

Chapter 300

Barely a few seconds after Evelyn slipped into the water, Tiffany's voice echoed from outside.

"Lucas? Is someone in there? Why'd you come out?"noveldrama

Lucas replied calmly, "There's no one. Let's go."

Tiffany seemed to say something else, but their voices faded as they walked away.

Evelyn leaned on the edge of the hot spring pool, glancing toward the entrance before looking away. It seemed Lucas and Tiffany had planned to meet here. If she hadn't spontaneously decided to have a soak in the hot springs, they might've had a romantic evening together.

Evelyn mulled it over. Then, she pushed Lucas and Tiffany out of her mind. Her fingers absently traced the scar on her abdomen.

That year, Blake had gotten into trouble with company affairs and faced retaliation before he was locked up. After those events, she was hospitalized for over two weeks. Later, likely because of the injury, she was told it would be difficult for her to conceive.

Evelyn closed her eyes. She stayed there for a long time, not making a sound.

The next day, Justine showed up after packing her things, inviting Evelyn down for breakfast.

At the restaurant, Sebastian looked up and said, "Lucas and Tiffany left earlier. They didn't even eat."

Evelyn just let the words go over her head and placed an order for a flat white. The food at the resort was top-notch, and Evelyn quite enjoyed it.

After breakfast, the group was waiting for their ride when Jason approached from the lobby. Evelyn was surprised that Jason hadn't left with Lucas and the others.

"Mr. Holt," Sebastian said, acknowledging him as he neared.

Jason nodded. "I just wrapped up some business. Since we're here, why don't we head out together?"

Evelyn and Justine had no comment. Sebastian raised an eyebrow. "Sure, why not?"

Jason's gaze briefly flicked over to Evelyn before settling on Sebastian. "Mr. Hi, you should come back sometime. We can always make

Sments for you."

Sebastian knew this resort was tough to book, so he grinned and replied, "That's

a generous offer. I owe you one, Mr. Holt."

Jason wasn't kidding. "You're too kind, Mr. Hill. It's no trouble at all. Making friends with Flying Seal Group would be my pleasure."

Sebastian raised his eyebrow and glanced at Evelyn. Why was Jason's attitude different from what he had expected? Tiffany wasn't exactly on good terms with Flying Seal Group, and given their tight-knit cirate, Jason shouldn't be this friendly with them.

Evelyn didn't join in on the two's conversation.

Sebastian smiled diplomatically. "You're too generous, Mr. Holt."

Jason checked his watch, then said casually, "I heard you have some good news coming up, Mr. Hill?"

"Which one?" Sebastian smirked. "Plenty of good things have been happening lately."

Jason paused, then glanced at

Evelyn. The day before, Mason had

speculated about Sebastian's

intentions with Evelyn. He even

mentioned Sebastian bringing her into the Hill family. '

Right now, Jason was testing the waters, trying to gauge if there was truth to it without asking outright. But Sebastian's response gave nothing away.

After a moment, Jason shook his head and said, "It's nothing. I just noticed you're looking radiant, Mr. Hill. You seem to be in great spirits."

Sebastian was even more baffled after hearing that. Thankfully, the topic didn't drag on.

When the group's ride arrived, Jason took a different car.

Sebastian turned to Evelyn after pondering. "Don't you think Mr. Holt was acting a bit off with me?"

Evelyn gave him a skeptical look. "How so?"

Sebastian couldn't pinpoint it, so he just chuckled with a raised brow. "It just feels like I'm weirdly popular lately. It's giving me the creeps."
