The Rebirth of the Betrayed Alpha

Alexandra gasped, flabbergasted. She couldn't believe he did this.

"How could you?"

Adam gives her a suspicious look. He sensed she had already solved the answer to the riddle. "What are you talking about?"

"What did you do to him?"

"You found out" Adam grinned, scratching his hair. "You've always been smart"

"What?"

Adam applauds her widening his smile. "I should get you a gift. What would you prefer? Flowers or chocolate"

"Your blood"

"What?" He chuckled.

"What I want is your blood. Is your blood that will undo what you did"

"You pushed me. He pushed me, I only played my game"

"You are didn't play fair"

Leaning closer to the bar, Adam whispered. "Life is not fair so why should I play fair"

"Ha!"

"Think about it, I wanted to be the Alpha. If I had been the Alpha, all of these would have been avoided. You would have probably been married off to crimson clan or perhaps been my Luna but the you double crossed me"

Alexandra glared at him, she wasn't stupid. If he had been the Alpha, he would have killed her on the day of his coronation. That was what he did in her past life and so he was going to do it again.

"All of this started because of your greed Alexandra. Your greed"

"You are out of your mind. My greed? You are the one who told me to seat out of the ceremony. You told me to support you but you never asked me what I wanted. Now who is greedy between us?"

"I've always wanted this"

"Same as me but I was ready to play fair. It was supposed to be mine yet I had to compete for it. Since when do Alpha's compete to lead the pack"

"You should stayed out like I told you to"

"Well I didn't!" Alexandra said aloud. "I didn't. I fought you and it felt so good whooping your ass"

Adam frowned. The way she had knocked him out shot through his mind but he pushed it aside.

"Now I have the upper hand, at least. I laughed last since I won the battle"

"The war hasn't been won yet"

"Look around you Alexandra, there is no one coming for you. Nathaniel will meet his demise quite soon. I made sure about that"

"By poisoning him"

His face softens. "It felt so good" He laughed as a memory shot through his mind.

"I gave him a chance to surrender, I would have shown him mercy"

"Can you explain what mercy means"

"What I showed you is mercy"

"We strike a deal. My position for him to let him live but he's..." She pauses hating to say that word. That word that has been lingering in her head repeatedly yet she was pushing it away. But she had discovered the truth and there was no denying it. It will only hurt her even more.

"He's dying. Withering slowly like the flowers in your garden. How ugly they've become since your absence Alexandra"

"Nathaniel is not dying!" She said, assuring herself that she would save him. But how?

"I love your zeal. Such confidence! It sparks up my world"

"Shut your mouth, he isn't dying. I won't let him die"

"Right. His mate will fight for him till the end. I'm curious to know how you keep him alive. That's if..."

"He has to stay alive. He has to live"

"Yea I want that too that's why I made sure he gets a slow death. That way you will get to watch him die"

"No Alexandra. I'm a monster. The worse kind of them, you just didn't realise quite soon. I thought you were smart"

"And I thought you were intelligent as well to know that I don't give up. I have never given up and I will never give up"

"Your world will be burned to ashes once I get out of here"

"I'm looking forward to it" Adam stepped back. "Do you think you can beat me?" He scoffed. "I took care of Nathaniel without even trying hard, how much more what I will do to you"noveldrama

Alexandra studies him carefully, there was no trace of fear on his face. He paraded like some god which means someone was supporting him. It couldn't be Bernard. He wasn't that strong. Whoever was behind him, Alexandra could sense he was stronger.

"You got lucky with Nathaniel"

"Lucky? Is that the right word? I wouldn't call it lucky since I brought him to his knees and showed him mercy. I can kill him in an instant now and you will watch me do it"

"I will stop you"

"You cannot. No one can"

"What's giving you the morale?"

"Not what Alexandra but who?"

"Is it father?"

Adam chuckled. "Now that's funny. Your father doesn't have what it takes. He's a

frail elderly man now"

"You've gotten what you wanted with him"

"Yes and no"

"Which is it?"

"Aren't you a curious cat?"

"Just say it"

"Your father and I are friends but please he couldn't pull this one off"

"You pulled a fast one on me"

"Which you could have avoided if you weren't so stupid. Who goofs around when in dangerous zone?"

"This is getting heated up" He laughed. "I look forward to it. I'm tired of winning"

He mocked "Please work hard so you can beat me"

"Keep mocking but this will be your last Adam Hawthorn"

Adam nears closer to the bars. His face an inch away from her.

"You bark too much Alexandra, shut up and bring it on" He draws away walking towards the door, cornering into the dark.
