The Rebirth of the Betrayed Alpha

Chapter 189: The Awakening

Nathaniel was stable and was recovering very quickly. Alexandra had stayed up through the night looking after him eager to see when his eyes opened.

Alexandra smiled and kissed his forehead. Nathaniel was much better and very soon she was sure he would open his eyes.

As a guard walked in with what Alexandra can only assume is breakfast. She stared at the guard, he was the same one from yesterday.

"Is you again" She smiled as a memory shot through her mind.

Adam would have killed him if she was a little bit honest but Alexandra had played

a fast one and Adam saw right through her.

"You're alive" She smirked.

"Fortunately, yes I am" The guard glared at Alexandra. She banged his head against the bars and tried to turn Adam against him. "You know I don't like you"

"The feeling is mutual pal"

"I'm not your pal. We are not friends"

"Sorry for the little incident yesterday"

The guard arched up his brow at her. What could she be plotting? Even though he had only met her here in the prison, he heard about her. The rumours Adam spread reached everyone and he was no exception.

"We hate you"

"Oh my!" Alexandra feigned to be shocked "Your hatred Isn't of my concern"

"Your breakfast" The man dropped the tray down and it lands with annoying thump. "What a waste"

"I have been hated since birth"

"Tell me about it" He scoffed attempting to leave when Alexandra held his hand.

"I'm just curious about one thing"

The guard untangled her hand, he wasn't going to get into trouble ag

because

of her. If Adam finds him lurking around the cell he will be punished severely and no one wants that.

"I don't care what you are curious about"

"Why? Don't tell me you got scolded"

"Have your breakfast else I will throw it out"

"Olivia. Is she dead?" She arched up her brow wondering what hole Olivia has crawled into.

Ever since Nathaniel knocked her out, she hasn't seen her around and Adam hasn't said anything about her either. They were still together but was she alive or did he betray her? No that was not going to happen, Adam could never kill her. He didn't kill her in her past life and so cannot kill her. They will meet the same fate. "What are you talking about?"

"That's the only explanation for her sudden disappearance?"

The guard frowned. "This place is surely getting to your head"

"Where is she? Is she somewhere?"

"I don't know and learn to mind your business Pal," The guard said with contempt. He didn't like Alexandra but now he hated her after she pulled that stunt on him yesterday.

"Don't get salty about yesterday. I was bored and wanted amusement"

"Does this look like a show?"

"What's wrong if I picked you as my muse? You came in pretty good and served your purpose, now I have nothing to do with you"

The more he stared at her, he clearly wouldn't underestimate her. Alexandra may appear innocent but she is nothing like she looked.

"What purpose did I serve?"

Alexandra held the urge to glance over at Nathaniel. The guards wouldn't notice that he was healed and Adam wasn't coming anytime soon. He would certainly be preparing for his ceremony.

"A very good purpose" she smiled menacingly creeping the guard out.

"What a weirdo!" The guard shakes off the strange feeling and walked two steps away. "You better finish your breakfast else there won't be lunch" The guard said and Alexandra smirked.

She wasn't bothered about not having lunch. As a matter of fact, for some days now she hadn't had the appetite to eat. With Nathaniel dying and no hope of living through the poison Adam gave to him. Alexandra was stressed and had sleepless nights. At times she would wake up in the night wishing Nathaniel was by her side and at other times. She could not put herself to sleep.

So whenever the guards brought food and water, Alexandra threw it out but today, she was going to keep it because Nathaniel was going to need it once he wakes up.

Glancing back at him, the glee on her face couldn't be contained. As she takes a step towards him, the guard walked back in and she stared at him.

"You seem to be enjoying my company"

"Alpha Adam said that I should deliver his message"

"What is this message?"

"The lady must remain unharmed"

She had a feeling that was not just the end of Adam's message.

"However if the lady attempts to escape then measures must be taken"

"Is your Alpha a fool or is it the messenger?"

"What?" The guard glared at him.

"How can I escape from the guard?"

"You are full of mysteries"

"You expect me to climb a high wall and run without my mate. That's absurd!" She laughed.

She was going to run once Nathaniel opens his eyes. There will be no turning back and after which Alexandra had in mind to return back to the pack and finally get rid of Adam and Olivia.

"You are a werewolf. There is nothing impossible for you to do"

"Debateable but my mate is wounded"

The guard glanced over at Nathaniel but couldn't quite see him clearly since Alexandra had covered him with big blanket.

"You better not be fooling me"

"How can I even do that?"

The guard throws a suspicious look at her and leaves. He doesn't trust her and Alexandra could sense that. She didn't want them to find out Nathaniel has recovered that way they won't start watching her like a hulk.

A smile glues on her face and she turned around only to meet Nathaniel's eyesnoveldrama

burning through her. His gaze cold stared into her eyes and she gasped.
