The Rise of a Master: It Starts With Rejection

Chapter 990

Someone piped up, "Huh? Johnny, look over there. That's the idiot who blocked our way before standing next to Barry! Birds of a feather, huh? No wonder they're friends. Haha!"

The man named Johnny was an extremely composed and handsome young man. He didn't respond at all and continued walking.

Beside him was a stunningly beautiful woman with an air of nobility and a

disdainful look in her eyes.

"You're right. Just compare our status to theirs. Even talking to them will tarnish our dignity. Let's go."

Once the trio left, Felix asked Barry, "Do you have a grudge against them?"

Barry gave a bitter smile. "Not really. I would never provoke them. During the last Intermediate Alchemy Assessment, that guy tripped when he was coming up the mountain, probably because he was distracted.

"I laughed at him just like everyone else did. Ever since then, he's held a grudge. He picks on me whenever he gets the chance."

He added nervously, "By the way, take my experience as a lesson-we can't afford to mess with those people."

Through Barry's explanation, Felix learned that the three individuals were from the prominent Brennan family in Denverville. The talkative guy was Colin, and Johnny was his older brother. The woman was named Josie.

"Actually, the Brennans are just a self-proclaimed prestigious family. Their rise only happened because Johnny has exceptional alchemy talent and was taken in as a disciple by a chief steward at Harmony Clinic.

"The whole family benefited from Johnny's success. It's funny how fate works. After Johnny, his cousin Josie also turned out to have impressive alchemy talent. She's here to take the Intermediate Alchemy Assessment; Johnny and Colin are just accompanying her."

Felix chuckled. "You know quite a lot. Are you from Denverville as well?"

"Yeah. I have an uncle working in the city defense forces. Colin would've already made my life miserable if I didn't have an uncle in the forces."

If Felix remembered correctly, the Hughman family hailed from

Denver ville as well. Once he

At the mountaintop stood Harmony Clinic, a vast architectural complex that was

not only magnificent but also uniquely styled.

The structures were made of enormous cyan-colored stones, creating an

imposing sight—a true engineering marvel.

The participants arriving for the assessment had no idea that someone was watching their entrance at the top of the tallest tower.

"Mr. Whitwell, that's Felix over there."

Dickson stood beside an elderly man with white hair, pointing toward Felix as he introduced him.noveldrama

"He doesn't look like much," Ezra Whitwell, the chief of Harmony Clinic, remarked.

Despite being an extraordinarily

powerful martial artist in the Grandmaster Realm, Ezra was slightly lacking in his alchemy skills. "But if Delilah has taken an interest in him, he must be top-tiero alchemy genius."

"That kid has plenty of secrets," Dickson said with a smirk. "Delilah told me he hails from the capital."

After hearing this, Ezra's eyes flickered with excitement. "Now, that's impressive. If you hadn't mentioned it, I might've forgotten the capital even existed."

Dickson, while halfway through an absentminded gesture of picking his nose, froze in embarrassment and quickly stopped when he realized the chief was beside him.

He muttered, "Delilah says Felix has a mentor and that he's from the capital can't begin to imagine the man who's mentoring Felix. Felix is practically flawless-both in martial arts and alchemy."

Ezra, who seemed about to say something, suddenly swallowed hard. "Dickson,

do you still remember a certain someone?"
