The Sway and Slide of Love

Chapter 730

Unlike the furious Hendrix, Dylan remained perfectly calm. There was even a hint of confusion in his eyes as he looked at the former.

Then, Dylan said, "Mr. Freeman, aren't you asking the wrong person? Noelle's your wife, so why are you asking me where she is? Isn't that a little inappropriate?

Or do you have evidence to suggest that I took her?"

Hendrix fell silent. He simply stood there, staring at Dylan. His clenched fists slowly loosened.

Then, he let out a soft laugh. "Fine, Dylan. You've made your choice."

With that, he turned and walked away.

Dylan remained where he was, watching Hendrix leave before turning to the other employees with a smile. "If there's nothing else, you can all go back to work now."

At his words, the employees didn't dare to linger any longer. After exchanging a few glances with each other, they quickly dispersed.

As he walked, Hendrix was already making calls. Coppersville wasn't that big-he refused to believe that even if he had to turn the entire city upside down, he still wouldn't be able to find Noelle.noveldrama

But the situation took an unexpected turn.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Freeman. We still haven't found any leads."

When this response came again, Hendrix's face was completely devoid of expression. He didn't say a word, just slowly set his phone down on the table.

Noelle had truly vanished into thin air. Aside from that fleeting glimpse of her arm in the surveillance footage, there was no trace of her. It was almost as if she had never existed in this world at all.

At first, Hendrix had been frantic and furious. But now, even those emotions had faded.

He stared at the darkened screen of

his phone, his mind completely blank. He knew he should be doing something because he was certain Noelle was waiting for him

somewhere. But where could she be? sŵnovel

Was she still in Coppersville? Or had she been taken to another city or even abroad? And most importantly, was she even still alive?

The last thought sent a chill through Hendrix's entire body. It felt as if the warmth, along with something deep in his heart, was slowly being drained away.

Then, he suddenly tried to recall the last time he had seen Noelle. It was the morning he had received the news from Erwin and had to rush off to deal with it.

Noelle had been asleep at the time. He was in a hurry to catch his flight and didn't want to wake her, so he left her a note.

He knew she would be upset. So, on the way to the airport, he had sent her a message explaining the situation. But she never replied-not that day or any day after.

How had things come to this? Hendrix couldn't understand. They were already together-they had

been through so much, faced lifet

and death side by side. So, how could he possibly lose her just like that? Was he losing his mind, or had the world gone insane?

Suddenly, his phone rang again. The sound snapped Hendrix out of his daze, and

he mechanically answered the call.

"Hendrix, come to the hospital quickly! Rosie has a high fever!" Beatrice's anxious voice came through the phone.

But Hendrix didn't react at all.

As if aware that he was standing there in a daze, Beatrice shouted, "Hendrix Freeman! This is your and Noelle's child we're talking about. If Noelle comes back and finds out something happened to Rosie, do you think she'll ever forgive you?"
