Chapter 84
Chapter 84:.
“So, what’s your point?”
Matthew’s pupils, which were as dark as ink, suddenly shrank, which was almost undetectable. His eyes darkened.
Out of her mind, Coral clutched the painting tighter.
“Is it possible that these are your illegitimate children…?”
“No.” Matthew stopped Coral before she could finish the sentence.
He had only had sex with a single woman.
It was impossible for other women to have children of his.
Illegitimate children? How was that possible?
“Coral, aren’t we having dinner tonight?” Looking around the empty kitchen, Matthew saw nothing. The table was neatly cleared and as shiny as a mirror. It could show a person’s reflection.noveldrama
Normally, at this hour, Coral would be in the kitchen preparing dinner. Or maybe dinner was ready for him. But today seemed different.
Dinner?

The corner of Coral’s mouth twitched, “Still in the mood for dinner?”
“…”
“You’ve lost everything. Are you happy now?” As she spoke, Coral put the photo back in the drawer. She wasn’t planning to let it go just like that, but decided to dig into this.
Matthew frowned-what had happened to him today?
“Look at this house. Does it look like a home to you? It’s big. But does it have vitality? Only an old woman doing chores and a thirty-year-old bachelor live in this house. What’s the point of having money?” Coral closed the drawer. She was angry and didn’t want to make him dinner.
But she couldn’t. So she went to the kitchen to prepare dinner.
Matthew looked at Coral’s back, which suggested that she wasn’t planning to just let it go. Then Matthew opened the drawer to take the picture. Since he never liked taking pictures, he didn’t even remember this one. If Coral hadn’t taken it out today, he would have totally forgotten about it.
Matthew held up the photo and looked at it closely. The eyes and the face…
Hum hum…
The phone in his pocket rang. There was a moment when a face from his memory came to mind that looked very much like the one in the photo. But the ringing interrupted his thought.
He put the photo down and closed the drawer. Then he pulled out his phone and answered the call. It was Abbott, calling him about work.
As he talked to Abbott, Matthew unbuttoned his shirt and headed for his bedroom.
At Golden Bay.
Jessica prepared dinner and was about to invite Samuel over for dinner. But Dolores stopped her, “Let him meditate on his own faults behind closed doors. If he won’t admit his faults, he won’t eat dinner.”
“He’s just a child. You’ve scared him enough. Do you really intend to forbid him dinner?” Jessica disagreed with Dolores. Samuel was growing up.
He couldn’t skip dinner.
“If he won’t admit his faults, he won’t eat dinner.” Dolores didn’t explain but she was quite determined.
As for something else, she could let it go. But for this thing, she must cling to it.
He was just a kid now, and he was seeing those disgusting things. What would he do when he grew up?
“Dolores…” Jessica still wanted to persuade her.
Dolores had made up her mind and was refusing any persuasion. If she didn’t set some rules now, she would only find it harder to discipline him when he grew up.
Dolores pulled Simona up, “Let’s go to dinner.”
Jessica stood in place and seemed to be thinking about what Dolores had said. She still wanted to fix this.
Dolores turned around and looked at Jessica. She gave her answer, “I mean it this time. Don’t even think about begging for it.”
Jessica walked over to Dolores and asked in a whisper, “Dolores, what has Samuel done to make you so angry?”
In Jessica’s mind, Samuel would not make any big mistakes. Because that boy was smart and thoughtful.
So Jessica was surprised to see Dolores get so angry this time.
Thinking about what Samuel watched and did, Dolores couldn’t tell,
“Mom, stop asking. Let’s go to dinner.”
Dolores sat on a stool and held Simona in her arms, feeding her rice.
Evidently, Dolores had no intention of explaining further, so Jessica stopped asking.
After dinner, Jessica cleared the table and Dolores took Simona to play in the neighborhood.
They had just moved in, so they needed to familiarize themselves with their surroundings.
Seeing that her daughter was going out, Jessica filled a bowl with rice and peeled some shrimp. She then took the bowl to Samuel’s room and gave it to him.
Dolores had taken Samuel’s tablet away from him, so he couldn’t play with it.
They had also taken away his phone, so he couldn’t call his teacher to chat with him. He was now very bored. He curled up at the head of the bed and looked like a poor thing.
Jessica put the bowl on the table for him, “Go downstairs and eat. Your mother just went out.”
Samuel didn’t move.
Jessica pulled him down, “You really don’t pussy out? You’ll be hungry in the evening. As long as I don’t tell, your mother won’t know you had dinner.” Samuel stood in front of his table and looked at the rice.
Gulp.
He was really hungry.
“These are your favorite shrimp. I peeled them for you. Come and eat. I’ll pour you a glass of water.” Jessica feared Samuel was too embarrassed to eat, so she found an excuse and went out.
Samuel licked his lips. If he was starving, how was he going to get even with that idiot?
He had to eat.
Samuel sat down in his chair and lifted the bowl. Then he began to eat.
He ate quickly because he was afraid Dolores would find out.
Jessica came in holding a glass of water. Seeing the way Samuel ate, Jessica couldn’t laugh or cry. If someone didn’t know, they would think Samuel had been starving for a long time.
“Slow down. Don’t choke.” Jessica passed him the glass of water so Samuel could drink some water to wash down the food.
Samuel let out a chuckle and mumbled through a mouthful of rice, “Thank you, Auntie.”
“Slow down. Your mother won’t be back so fast.” Jessica stood in the doorway, “I’ll keep watch.”
Samuel dined like a thief.
The neighborhood was quite satisfactory. Centrally located, the neighborhood could still have large areas of trees and lawns. In fact, it was hard to find a neighborhood as good as this one. The surrounding facilities were adequate and satisfactory as well, including the kindergarten, elementary school, supermarket and subway.
As Dolores strolled through the neighborhood, Simona fell asleep in her arms. She hugged her daughter and headed home. Jessica had already finished cleaning the kitchen and was now filling the bathtub with hot water.
Dolores went to Samuel’s room and opened his door. Samuel was sitting at the head of the bed. He curled up and looked like a little orphan abandoned by his parents.
He looked like a poor little poor thing.
“Do you know what your fault is now?” Dolores looked at him and asked.
Samuel braced his legs and ducked his head, “I was right.”
“Right. Well then, you were right. I want to see how stubborn you are.” Dolores angrily closed the door and took Simona into another room to put her to bed.
Simona had a habit. When she slept, she had to touch Dolores’ chest. Otherwise, she could not sleep well.
That was her daughter’s habit. Dolores had already gotten used to her daughter’s habit.
Since they were twins, Dolores did not have enough breast milk to feed both of them. She could only feed one with her breast milk. Because Simona came out later and was so small then, Dolores fed her breast milk. When Simona had breast milk as a baby, she liked to touch Dolores’ breast.
Over time, it became a habit.
Dolores would cuddle her daughter, but she couldn’t sleep. Normally, Samuel also slept with her.
But this child was so stubborn and would not admit his faults. She didn’t know where he got that from.
On the second day, Dolores didn’t leave the house early. The decorations weren’t finished in the store, so she didn’t have much to do there.
She had planned to spend the time staying home and keeping the two children company. But Teresa called her and told her someone was coming to pick her up. So she went out.
After familiarizing herself with the surroundings, Dolores knew she could take the subway to the store. So she went to the ticket office to buy a ticket.
“Miss Flores.” Terry saw her and ran through the crowd towards her.
The other day he heard Abbott call her ‘Miss Flowers’, so he did the same.
He left home early today and waited for her here. He hoped he could talk to her. But he didn’t know it would take so long to reach her.
And after he left, he didn’t take a cab but came by subway.
Luckily, he was moving fast. Otherwise, he would miss her.
Hearing the voice, Dolores turned to see who it was. When she recognized his face, she frowned. Dolores didn’t know why he was following her.
When Terry ran through the crowd and arrived at Dolores’ side. Feeling so tired, he was panting like a dog. Then he crouched down with his arms up in the air, “Can I talk to you?”
“No.” Dolores declined and didn’t want to hold on to the past anymore.
But Terry told her firmly, “After seeing this, I’m sure you’ll want to talk to me.”
As he said, he took something out of his pocket and handed it to Dolores.
