Zayn's words struck Nadine like a bolt of lightning.

She stumbled back. Her eyes were wide with disbelief. "Zayn, what are you saying?"

Zayn smirked, his expression cruel. He shrugged off his jacket and sank onto the couch.

"That night, you drugged me. Did you really think I wouldn't notice? I swapped the drinks. The one you had was the spiked one. After that, I found a random guy to spend the night with you. He took my money and skipped town. But if you're that desperate to find him, I can bring him back.

"So, do you get it now? I never touched you. Not even once.

"The only time I ever went along with you was that night at the wrap-up party- when you forced that kiss on me. That was it. Anything else you want to ask? I'll clear it up for you," he continued.

Nadine desperately tried to recall that night. All she remembered was that she felt strange after drinking the wine. Everything after that was a blur.

She only recalled waking up the next morning to find Zayn sitting in the living room.

When she saw the marks on her body, she had assumed it was Zayn's doing. When she discovered she was pregnant, she had told Zayn immediately. His reaction had been strange.

At that time, she thought he was just shocked. But now, she realized he had been keeping the truth from her.

"Zayn, how could you do this to me? I was your first love! Don't you remember how happy we were? How could you be so cruel?" Nadine's voice trembled.

Zayn let out a cold laugh. "First love? I didn't know a damn thing back in high school. Love? I didn't even know what it meant to like someone. But now I do. I know it better than anyone. And the person I love is Josephine. You mean nothing to me," he said coldly.

"I don't waste my time on people who don't matter. You were dead wrong if you thought you had any hold over me.

"In the past, I put up with you

because I needed you to get Joe's

inheritance. So, I humored you. I

treated it like an investment. But for that little bit of money, I lost something far more important. I'm done now. I'm changing my approach. Do whatever the hell you want. Just stay out of my sight," he added.

Her friend gave her a puzzled look. "Wait, you don't know? Then why do you have her photo? That's Mrs. Forbes. She's Zayn Forbes' ex-wife. He cheated on her a while back, and they got divorced. She's pretty badass, though. She didn't forgive that scumbag and refused to take him back."

she was stunned to realize they were the same person.

At three in the morning, a paparazzo was jolted awake by his ringing phone.

His boss's urgent voice came through. "Get up now! We've got a major story. Draft

the article and edit the footage now. It does live at noon sharp!"

It wasn't just the paparazzo. Every major media outlet was already scrambling to cover the news.

Meanwhile, Josephine and the others remained completely unaware of the storm heading their way.

The night before, she had stayed up late talking on the phone with Ethan. She slept in until the late morning sun streamed through her window.
