Your Guise Is Slipping, Miss Pearl

Chapter 1376

Chapter 1376

Pearl was not going to back down on this matter. "I have just two simple requests. If you can meet them, I'll stay with you forever. If not, I can't settle down with you."

Luther looked at Pearl. Her calm face told him she meant every word. He had been harsh with her, but he wanted their future together to be better.

"Alright, I agree to your terms. But you must promise not to talk to him again after he leaves the hospital."

"It's a deal. Can you tell me where Darius is now?" Pearl looked concerned. Darius had been hurt badly and handled roughly, and his injuries must have worsened.

Luther thought for a moment. "He's safe in the basement of my house. Don't worry." He had planned to bring the child to her but instead just told her where he was. He had taken good care of the boy since he'd been at his house.

Pearl felt reassured by his words and smiled.

"Are you going to see him now? I can take you there."

"Yes, let's go."

Before Pearl could tell Richard, she got into Luther's car. They drove to Luther's house, and she hurried out of the car and straight to the basement upon arriving.

Pearl had spent four years with Luther, so she knew his house well. When she got to the basement door, she found it unlocked and grew suspicious. It was too quiet; there were no sounds of children.noveldrama

Something was wrong. Pearl pushed the door open and saw the room was empty.

Luther walked up behind her casually. "He's in there, right?"

"Where have you hidden him?" Pearl demanded. Her face was pale, but she kept her voice steady.

Luther looked confused and walked over to check. Darius wasn't there.

"I checked before we left, and he was right here. Why would I lie to you about that?"

"Then where is he?" Pearl demanded, her patience wearing thin.

Luther shook his head. "I don't know."

Pearl pushed him against the wall. "You're lying, Luther! Tell me where Darius is, or else!" Luther scoffed. "I've told you everything I know. Why would I lie? What do I get out of this?" "Then where is he?" Pearl took a deep breath. "If you're telling the truth, and my son is missing, it must be someone in your house who took him."

Luther was silent for a while before responding, "I only ever gave one person the key to this basement."

"Who?" Pearl demanded.

"Nina Crawford."

Pearl didn't recognize the name.
