A Surprising Twist of Fates (Sierra and Theo)

Chapter 62

Chapter 62 Impossible to Be Together

Madison looked over as she voiced her confusion. "Are delivery services this high-end now? Not only do the delivery men have to be tall and handsome, but they also have to wear suits?

She had ordered breakfast to be delivered and assumed the man standing there with the food containers was the delivery person.

Adrian blushed slightly but calmly responded, "Ms. Lloyd, I'm Mr. Gray's assistant. We met several times yesterday-did you forget?"

Madison felt awkward. "My apologies for failing to recognize you right away."

"No worries. It's probably because I have such an ordinary face," he joked, easing Madison's embarrassment.

Then, he turned to Sierra lying in the hospital bed before continuing in a deferential manner, "Ms. Shaw, Mr. Gray was informed by the hospital staff that you've woken up, so he asked me to bring you breakfast. He said he would come to see you after his meeting."

Madison immediately gave Sierra an ambiguous look, as if to say, "See? I told you, Theo is into you!"

Sierra understood the meaning, causing her ears to burn slightly.

She shot Madison a glance, silently telling her not to jump to conclusions or say anything inappropriate. Then, she cleared her throat, turned to Adrian, and said, "Thank you. I appreciate it, Adrian.

"I'm doing fine now, so please tell Uncle Theo to take care of himself after he finishes his work. I heard from Maddy that he spent two days looking for me he must be exhausted. Please help me to thank him too. I'll make sure to return the favors."

"There's no need to be so formal, Ms. Shaw. It's my duty. I'll be sure to convey your message to Mr. Gray. Please enjoy your meal, and I won't disturb you any further." Adrian smiled politely and nodded slightly.

"Take care, Adrian."

"I'll walk him out," Madison said suddenly, getting up to follow him.

"Adrian, wait a moment," she called out.

He turned back and looked a little puzzled. "Is there something I can help you with, Ms. Lloyd?"

"Adrian, does Mr. Gray have feelings for Cee? I mean romantic feelings," Madison asked bluntly, her straightforward nature shining through.

The question left him stunned for a few seconds before he smiled, replying, "I'm sorry, Ms. Lloyd, but I wouldn't dare speculate about Mr. Gray's thoughts. I'm just his assistant. My job is to carry out his instructions. As for his personal life, I wouldn't interfere."

His response was both polite and tactful, leaving her unable to glean any useful information. "Well, I see. Thank you, Adrian. Take care."

She gave a faint smile and turned back to the hospital room.

Adrian watched her retreating figure and chuckled softly, thinking that Madison certainly had sharp instincts, but without Theo's permission, he couldn't reveal his boss' feelings. Doing so might cause more harm than good.

"What did you ask Adrian about?" Sierra asked, raising an eyebrow when she saw Madison return.

"Oh, I just went to see him out. I didn't ask anything," Madison replied while unpacking the food containers, trying to brush it off.

Sierra simply looked at her without saying a word. Madison held out for a few seconds before giving in and confessing. "Fine, I only asked him one question. But Adrian was cunning he didn't say a thing."noveldrama

Sierra frowned slightly and said seriously, "Maddy, there's no way Uncle Theo would like me. You asking questions like that out of the blue could make people misunderstand and think I have feelings for him.

"I've never had any inappropriate thoughts about him. Besides, he's Benson's uncle. Even though Benson and I have broken up, there's absolutely no way I could ever be with his uncle."
