A Surprising Twist of Fates (Sierra and Theo)

Chapter 63

Chapter 63 Sharing Her Thoughts

Hearing Sierra's imposing voice, Madison realized she might have been a bit reckless. She gave an awkward smile and playfully said, "Alright, Cee, it's my fault. Don't be mad, okay?"

"I'm not mad. I just don't want Uncle Theo to think I have ulterior motives after all the times he's helped me," Sierra replied. Although she was sincere, she spoke with seriousness.

"Alright, let's stop talking about it and eat." Madison quickly changed the subject, opening the food containers. A mouthwatering aroma instantly filled the room.

"This must've been made by a five-star chef. How can it smell this good?"

She was practically mesmerized by the fragrance. She picked up her phone and canceled the breakfast she had ordered, telling the delivery guy to enjoy it himself and not to bother bringing it over.

Both she and Sierra were die-hard foodies. Whenever they got together, their gatherings revolved around eating.

Sierra's expression began to ease. Good food could indeed heal anything.

After their meal, the doctor came by to check on her foot. Thankfully, it wasn't fractured; otherwise, she would've been in a lot more pain.

Once the doctor left, Madison glanced at Sierra's injured foot and asked, "Cee, how did your foot get hurt like that?"

Sierra's eyes flickered slightly before she replied, "I jumped out of a second-floor window." "What?" Madison's eyes widened in shock. "What happened? Why would you jump out of a second-floor window? Was it that damn father of yours giving you trouble again?"noveldrama

She shifted the topic, voicing her suspicions.

Sierra lowered her gaze and remained silent.

Yet, Madison could tell from her expression that this definitely had something to do with William. She angrily exclaimed, "That worthless father of yours! He doesn't take care of you, yet he constantly makes your life difficult. He's not even fit to be called human!"

She was so furious that she wanted to immortalize William as a villain in her novel and have her readers tear him apart. "What was he giving you trouble about this time? Did he find out you broke up with Benson?"

Sierra pressed her lips together lightly before replying, "He wanted me to apologize to Benson and get back to him. I refused, and we argued."

"Does he know why you and Benson broke up?"

Sierra nodded.

Madison was so angry she wanted to punch someone. Her fists were clenched tightly.

Seeing Madison's cheeks puff up in fury, Sierra couldn't help but smile and said in a soft voice, "Maddy, there's no need to get upset. I've always known what kind of person he is. Benefits are the only thing that matters to him.

"He will only treat me as his daughter if I can bring him benefits. Otherwise, I'm just a pawn he can discard at any time. I just didn't expect..."

Her voice trailed off, and her mind flashed to Vera's words. Her long eyelashes trembled slightly as a wave of sadness washed over her.

"Didn't expect what?" Madison pressed.

Sierra raised her head, struggling to keep her tears from falling.

Seeing her distress, Madison's heart ached. She gently held Sierra's hand and said, "Cee, I won't ask anymore. If you don't want to talk about it, you don't have to."

"I'm fine," Sierra said, shaking her head. Her voice carried a hint of a sob.

"Maddy, I've told you before-William wanted to abandon me when I was less than two months old. But my mother never gave up on me.

"When I was little, Grandpa took me to live with him, but my mother would often come to visit. Whenever she came, I loved curling up in her arms because I wanted her to hold me longer. She always brought me little things girls love-clothes, dolls, shoes...

"I know she loves me. She just couldn't stand up to William. I've always understood that, and I've never blamed her. She gave birth to me, and she loves me. I love her, too. "But this time, Maddy...this time, I really feel a bit of resentment toward her."
