Chapter 88
Chapter 88:.
Maria was wearing a pale pinkish gray dress, white heels and delicate makeup. Her curly hair with big waves was styled so that it hung over one of her shoulders.
She looked like she had seen Dolores for a long time. With her arms folded across her chest, she looked at Dolores in the doorway.
Dolores didn’t want to get into any conflict with her. It didn’t mean that she was afraid of Maria, but simply that she wasn’t in the mood to tangle with her. Therefore, Dolores pulled Theresa and walked away down the side path.
Mary, however, had no intention of letting her go easily.noveldrama
In her opinion, if it wasn’t for Dolores, how was Matthew going to leave her?
No matter where Dolores was headed, Mary would simply block her path.
“What’s wrong with you?” Theresa snapped angrily after being stopped several times.
“Something’s wrong with you!” Maria glared at her. Her delicate face twitched with anger.
“If you’re sane, why are you blocking our way?” Theresa glared back at her.
She, too, could express her anger through her gaze.
As Abbott walked by, he happened to see the women arguing in front of the hotel entrance. “Excuse me, Mr. Nelson. It looks like Mrs. Herbert and Miss Flores are in there,” he said to the man sitting in the back seat and stopped the car.
Matthew was reading a document with some unread ones in his lap. He was wearing a white shirt and his suit jacket unbuttoned. He was wearing his shirt loose and two collar buttons also buttoned. You could see his thin neck and prominent collarbones. He appeared to be very busy. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be reading papers while sitting in the car.
Hearing what Abbott said, he rolled down the car window and looked over.
Sure enough, he saw the two women.
Matthew shot a glance at Maria and his eyes darkened. He closed the folder in his hands, not wanting to get out, but he had lost interest in reading them any further.
Abbott asked him cautiously, “Shall we get off and take a look?”
Matthew shot him a cold look. Abbott pursed his lips, reluctantly keeping silent.
In front of the hotel entrance, Dolores tugged Theresa. “Let’s change restaurants.”
“You want to leave? No way.” Mary spread her arms wide and continued to bar Dolores’ way. She was infuriated that Matthew had called off their engagement.
Now she found herself at fault. How could she let Dolores leave so easily?
Dolores’s face darkened completely. “Get out of my way!” scoffed Mary. “Get out of your way?” she said in a fierce tone, “Dolores Flores, Dream on! You’ve ruined my happiness and my future, how could I let you go? I wish I could tear you to pieces and throw away your flesh to feed the dogs.”
“I’m afraid the dogs wouldn’t eat what you give them!” Theresa was not willing to see her so arrogant.
Mary slapped Theresa across the face. Pointing to Theresa’s nose, she snapped, “Who do you think you are, how dare you talk to me like that?”
Theresa was startled by the slap.
She felt a burning pain in her cheek.
Dolores clenched her hands. All her blood flew backward throughout her body, and the power pooled in her right hand. She reached up and slapped Mary on the left cheek.
This slap sounded much louder than the one a moment ago.
She didn’t want to tangle with Maria, but that didn’t mean she was an easy person to bully.
Maria slapped Theresa, so she slapped her.
Maria’s eyes almost popped out. She couldn’t believe Dolores had the guts to hit her. “How dare you hit me?”
Dolores clenched her hands. A moment ago, she slapped Maria with all her might. Now not only her hand, but also her whole arm was numb. However, she kept her face calm. “If you did not offend me, I would not offend you. It was you who provoked me first. Do you think you are somebody just because you are the daughter of the Herbert Family? We are all human beings and no one is superior to the other. Since you hit her, you should bear the retribution.”
Retribution?
“You’re the one who deserves retribution!” Maria pounced on her as if she had gone mad. “Dolores Flores, I’m going to kill you. I’m going to kill you…”
All the pent-up hatred in Maria’s heart had found a breakthrough in Dolores. Maria was out of control.
She had already lost her mind.
“Are you sure you can win against the two of us?” Dolores was extremely calm, standing motionless.
Out of nowhere, Theresa found a stick, holding it in her hands. She looked at Maria intently. If Maria dared to move, Theresa would hit her in the head.
Maria paused. Since she had returned to the Herbert Family, no one had dared to provoke her like that.
Accustomed to the flattery and compliments of others, she had never suffered such a loss.
She was furious.
She couldn’t help but tremble with fury.
“What are you looking at, aren’t you afraid your eyes will pop out?” waving the stick, Theresa was ready to raise the stick and strike her.
Mary was so frightened that she couldn’t help but hold her head tightly.
It was her instinctive reaction.
But the look on her face was quite hilarious.
“Ha ha…” Teresa laughed at her.
“Dolores Flores, I won’t let you go!” Maria was so angry she was almost roaring hysterically.
“Ha!” scoffed Dolores.
Let her go?
When had Maria ever let her go before?
“Maria Herbert, you harmed my mother and made her mentally ill, you planned my car accident and almost killed me, have you ever had mercy and planned to let me go?” He had hesitated, wondering if he should take revenge on Maria because she was Sampson’s younger sister. If he really did something to Maria, he would feel sorry for Sampson.
After all, Sampson cared a lot about his little sister.
However, seeing that Maria already hated her to the core and never intended to let her go, Dolores realized that Maria could hurt her continuously as Maria had already done it to her repeatedly.
Dolores was different now than she was before. She had two children as her weakness.
No one would know if Maria would hurt her children if she had gone mad.
At this point, Dolores firmly decided that she would work with Terry to file the booking of her accident case as well as her brother’s suicide in the past.
She feared that only when Maria was finally punished by the law would her world be completely tranquilized.
Maria was taken aback. Squinting her eyes, she asked, “You already know that I planned the car accident back then?”
After all, it had been so many years. No one should know the truth of the matter back then.
“No one would know only if you hadn’t done it.” Dolores stressed each syllable.
“Did my brother tell you?” she told only Sampson.
Suddenly she felt as if the whole world had betrayed her. Matthew had abandoned her. Even her older brother, who loved her dearly, had told her secret to this woman.
Dolores’s heart was turned upside down. Did Sampson know that it was Mary who had planned the car accident then?
But he had told her plainly that it had been an accident.
Dolores wondered if he had said it deliberately to protect her younger sister.
Suddenly, Dolores remembered Sampson’s abnormality that day. She asked him, ‘In the future, if you found out I wasn’t so nice, would you hate me?’
She wondered if it was because of this issue that he looked depressed that day.
Dolores’ silence turned into acquiescence to Mary’s opinion.
“Ha, ha… Ha, ha, ha, ha…” Maria burst into wild laughter. She laughed so hard that tears came to her eyes. “What hypercritical love, all fake!” She had thought Sampson treated her really well.
She had never expected her not to be as important to him as this woman was.
What was so good about this woman?
Why did all the men favor her so much?
Theresa was surprised at the look on Mary’s face. She asked in a low voice, “Lola, is she going crazy?”
Dolores shook her head.
“Dolores Flores.”
Suddenly Maria stopped, looking at Dolores so viciously as if her eyes were filled with poison, she could kill Dolores just by looking at her. “Dolores Flores, just wait!”
She as now the daughter of the Herbert Family now. There would be plenty of opportunities to kill Dolores for sure.
She had those opportunities before.
She would have more chances in the future.
“I’m waiting.” Dolores stood up, her charisma winning out over Maria’s.
Knowing she would have no advantage if she continued to tangle with Dolores like this, Maria decided to leave and come up with another plan later.
She regretted being too careless and underestimating Dolores.
Now she was embarrassed in this way.
Coming down the steps, as she was about to drive, Maria saw the man walking towards them. Her eyes sparkled. She ran to him immediately. “Matthew…”
