Unforgettable love

Chapter 92

Chapter 92:

When she remembered that he had betrayed her, Maria felt very enraged.

Was his love for her an illusion?

How could he betray her and stab her in the back?

Maria stood by the door and her steps were shaky, “Sampson…”

Sampson approached her and discovered the bruises on her knees. He frowned as he asked, “Did you get into a fight with someone?” If not, why had she ended up like this?

Mary shook her head as she stared at Sampson, “Sampson, is your love for me fake?”

“How can that be?” Sampson truly loved her as his sister. Her disappearance in the past was in a way his mistake too, so all along he had been living with guilt, and now that he could get her back, all his feelings for her were never fake.

Mary suddenly let out a laugh, but all trace of her smile evaporated. Then she let out an exasperated cry, “If you really love me and see me as your sister, why have you betrayed me for that woman?”

“What are you talking about?” Sampson was confused by her words.

“Go in first.”

He pulled his sister, who was losing control of herself. Due to the fact that her marriage had recently been called off, Landon was especially unhappy about it. A dark cloud hung over the house.

If Landon found out that she was having a seizure again, he would undoubtedly be furious.

Mary was dragged into the house by Sampson.

“You sit down first. I’ll go get some ointments to disinfect your knees so they don’t get infected.”

Mary seemed to understand nothing as she continued to sit motionless and staring at a point in space.

She thought that by being part of the Herbert Family, she could be together with Matthew, enjoy his high status and possess a lover and also a loving brother.

However, things could not have been further from reality.

Everything had changed. Yes, she now had a prestigious status, but she had lost Matthew, and at the same time that woman was channeling some of Sampson’s love towards her.

Dolores had ruined his love and family life.

Her fingers slowly buried themselves in the bed sheet, and the veins could be seen bulging in her skin. She was really angry now.

Sampson brought a first aid kit and proceeded to clean and disinfect the wounds on her knees. He did everything with extreme care, as if he was afraid of causing her pain.

“Sampson.” Mary looked down. “Are you this gentle with Dolores too?”

Maria was really abnormal today.

“What are you trying to say?” Sampson put the disinfectant in her hand on the floor and decided to have a conversation with her about this matter.

“Maria, it’s not like Matthew is the only man in the world. You don’t need to focus on him for too long. With your traits, you can find a better…”

“Dolores is not the only woman in the world, so why do you still love her so much?” Before he could finish the sentence, Mary suddenly interrupted him.

Sampson could find no words to refute her.

She was right. While trying to persuade his sister, he had forgotten his own stubbornness.

“Sampson, you can betray your own sister for the sake of the woman you love. Your love is truly deep.”

He could no longer ignore her because she kept repeating the same thing: “Mary, have you been to see them?”

“Yes.” Maria admitted.

Sampson couldn’t help but frown, “You’ve accused me of betraying you. Can you elaborate?” Did this have anything to do with Dolores?

“Are you asking me this?” Maria sounded very sarcastic, “Are you not aware of what you have done?”

“I don’t know what you mean. I never meant to hurt you in the first place.” He was sure he had never hurt his sister.

When he learned that Matthew was that man from that night long ago, he had selfishly tried to hide this fact from Dolores. She later learned that Mary was her sister and that she loved Matthew, so this prompted her to hide this truth even deeper in her heart.

He did not even say anything knowing that Dolores’ children currently lacked a father figure.

Yet his sister was now accusing him of betraying her.

Sampson felt truly disappointed and saddened.

Mary’s words were too hurtful.

“You never meant to hurt me? Then tell me, how did Dolores know that I was the author of that accident six years ago?” Maria didn’t believe him.

“Does she know that you were the cause of that accident six years ago?” Sampson sounded incredulous. Dolores had discovered something he had gone out of his way to hide from her.

After all, the one who had hurt Dolores was none other than his own sister.

If Dolores knew, his relationship with her would definitely be affected.

Maria laughed coldly, “Don’t act like you don’t know what’s going on. This affair is already six years old. Everyone who was aware of it was no longer alive except you and I. Are you implying that it was I who revealed the truth to you personally?”

Sampson was stunned for a moment. Then he muttered, “I really didn’t tell her any of this.”

He was simply nervous that Dolores had finally learned this truth.

Would she be angry with him?noveldrama

She plopped down on the couch.

She was about to accept it now, but suddenly she learned the truth about that accident.

She dared not dwell on this idea any longer.

Mary watched his forlorn expression and frowned slightly, “Are you sure you’re not the one who revealed it to him?”

Sampson laughed bitterly, “Why would I have to lie to you?”

“Then how did she know?”. Mary couldn’t understand what had happened since there were only a handful of people who knew the truth in the first place. The other one who knew was now dead.

The only ones left in the know were Sampson and her. If the two of them never said anything about it, how did Dolores learn the truth about that accident?

“Rest for now.” Sampson stood up and said. He needed a moment of privacy and to think about how he would have to deal with Dolores from now on.

He would have to think about how to explain himself.

“Sampson.” Mary hugged him from behind with her face pressed against his back, “Sampson, you’re not young anymore, and I’m not a teenager anymore. We don’t have too much time anymore, you should help me, for our sake…”

“How can I help you?” Sampson smiled bitterly, as she was now in deep trouble. In that case, how could he help her?

“Try to consider my proposal from last time.”

Fearing that he would reject her out of hand, Mary hastily added, “Don’t turn me down now. Think it over. If you want Dolores to be with you without having to pay any price, that’s impossible. You must know that the only way to force her into a relationship with you is to have an intimate relationship with her. Women are always sentimental. When she has given her body to you, sooner or later she will harbor feelings for you. When you marry her later, I could also be together with Matthew. This would mean that the bond that connects our family can be established. We’re killing a lot of birds with one stone, so why don’t you think it through?”

Sampson remained silent. He was very fond of Dolores.

It wasn’t that he had only known her for a year or two. They had a decade-long bond, so how could he dare taint her using such underhanded means? How could he taint their precious bond?

“You know our family situation very well. You and elder brother are inexperienced in business, and father is also getting old. This time, father wanted me to marry Matthew because he is thinking about the future of the Herbert Family. Don’t you agree with me, or do you want to see our family dwindle to nothing?” Mary continued to convince him.

“That’s not the reason I should do this.” Sampson was still unwilling to budge.

Although he was a little older than Dolores, Dolores was the first woman he had ever liked.

He didn’t want to destroy his memories.

Mary let go of him as she took a step back. She stared at him with a look of disappointment.

“My happiness and the future of the family? Aren’t those things more important than your love for that woman?” She was questioning him now, “You have been on the receiving end of the family’s blessings, yet you have never done anything that would benefit the family. All the time, you were free to do whatever you wanted by going abroad. Our parents have been very supportive of you, but in return, what have you done for them?”

Sampson felt petrified. She was right; he had never done anything for his family.

“Sampson …”
