Unforgettable love

Chapter 91

Chapter 91:

“…”

After dinner, the two left the restaurant.

“Where do you want to go? Let me send you there.”

Dolores thought for a while and answered, “Home.”

She still hadn’t finished her homework at the store, and she also had chores to do.

Besides, she’d gotten this job in Country A.

She had an appointment with a customer who wanted to have her wedding dress custom-made to go over the design notebook.

She was soon to begin production of the wedding dress according to her client’s preferred design and material.

Hearing that she wanted to go home, Matthew gave her a sidelong glance and said wryly, “Your son doesn’t even have a father. Can you call that a home?”

Dolores wanted to refute him that her son simply didn’t have a father at that moment, but in the end decided to keep that to herself.

If he answered her, she wouldn’t know what else to tell him. She merely shot him a glance before ducking her body and getting into the car.

Matthew smiled a faint smile on his face.

A stony silence reigned inside the car, and a sense of embarrassment hung in the air as the two of them didn’t speak.

Dolores leaned against the car window and pretended to be asleep.

She didn’t act perfectly, however, and Matthew was able to see through her almost instantly. Despite this, he did not want to break her facade.

After about twenty minutes, Dolores pretended to be awake from her short nap as she knew it was almost time. The car was also pulling into her communal area.

She rubbed her eyes as she opened the car door and got out of the car and said, “Thank you.”

She thanked him for taking her back.

Matthew had an indifferent posture as his hand hung on the steering wheel, “You don’t seem sincere at all.”

Dolores paused in her action of closing the car door, “What do you mean?”

“If you really want to thank me, shouldn’t you invite me up and have a cup of tea?” there was a smirk on his lips. He was teasing her.

Now Dolores was his target.

Dolores closed the car door and replied coldly, “I think I proved my sincerity to you after I invited you to lunch.”

Samuel was very suspicious of him, and if Jessica saw him, she would be upset too.

She would be crazy to let him into her house.

Simona was biting her fingers and blinking teary-eyed as she looked in Dolores’ direction down the road, “Is that Mommy?”

Samuel was racking his brain thinking about how to retrieve Dolores’ tablet, watch and phone when he heard his sister’s question. He glared at her, “Where have you seen Mammy?”

Simona pointed to the entrance of her area.

Samuel turned to see what she was talking about, and immediately saw Dolores standing by the road looking like she was talking to someone. The side profile of that person…

Why did it look so familiar?

Almost immediately, he could recognize the man talking to Dolores. Wasn’t he that cheating lover?

Why was Mom still with him?

Samuel immediately made a face of few friends as he stared at them.

Simona shook his hand and asked, “Brother, what’s the matter?”

Samuel snorted coldly, “Simona, have you seen that man in the car?”.

Simona nodded obediently, “I saw him.”

“He…he’s our father.” Samuel clenched his fists.

Since he was Mom’s ex-husband, that must mean he was also her father.

Simona blinked as she thought that she had never had the opportunity to use this word in her life. She had only heard her friends use this word in her life, unlike her.

When she suddenly found out from her brother that she had a father, she got very excited. She almost ranted, “Dad…”.

Samuel put his hand out and pushed her hand away as he covered her mouth, “Shh!”.

Simona squirmed a little, “I want to see daddy.”

She wasn’t as calculating as Samuel. She naively just wanted to see for herself what her father looked like, as it was big news to her.noveldrama

“He’s not our father.” Samuel said with conviction.

Huh?

Simona felt confused. Her brother was changing his mind now, what was the truth?

She could only look at her brother with wide eyes, as if waiting for an answer.

“He was our father, but he’s abandoned Mom and us, so we can’t call him father anymore.”

Simona didn’t quite understand. Her eyelashes fluttered as she said mechanically, “But is he our father? I want a daddy.”

Samuel hugged his sister and said, “I’ll find us a good father. I’ll find a good man for mommy.”

Simona, “…”

She didn’t understand what her brother meant.

She kept looking at the man’s side profile and wondered if that man was really her father.

What did he look like?

“Brother, have you seen Dad before?”

Samuel nodded, “Yes.”

“Is he handsome?” continued to ask Simona as she had the urge to move closer to take a look.

Samuel was reluctant to admit it, but Matthew was indeed handsome. This was what made him frustrated.

Where could he find another man who was more handsome than him?

“He is handsome.”

His words increased the anticipation in Simona’s heart.

“I brought him.” Jessica approached them with a folding umbrella as she said. They were going to visit the aquarium today, but before they could leave while they were downstairs, Jessica thought to bring an umbrella, saying it was going to rain at three in the afternoon.

So she went back upstairs to get the umbrella.

“Grandma.” Simona felt a little aggrieved in her heart because she had never seen her father while her brother had.

When the perfect opportunity to get a good look at him appeared, her brother forbade her to check on her father.

It was very upsetting.

“What’s wrong?” Jessica picked her up off the floor.

“Brother…” As Simona started to speak, Samuel shouted, “Mom.” He had interrupted her.

Dolores walked over to them and asked after seeing the backpack on

Jessica’s back, “Are you going somewhere?”

“I plan to take them to the aquarium. It’s not good to stay cooped up at home all day.”

Dolores hugged her daughter as she asked, “How are they going? Are they planning to take the train?”

It was not at all convenient to take care of two children while taking the train.

Jessica replied, “Let’s take a cab. It’s not so convenient to take the train, since we have to change stations.”

Dolores walked to the side of the road and said, “I cannot accompany you this time as I have work to do. When I have more time, I will study which car is convenient for us and buy one. That way it will be easier when they have to leave.”

“You go on with your work. I’ll take good care of them.” Jessica then proceeded to reach out to hug Simona again.

However, Simona did not want to be hugged by Jessica, and for some reason did not want to let go of her hands around Dolores’ neck. She said shyly, “Mom.”

“Yes, what is it?” Dolores looked at her daughter and stroked her hair,

“Do you want me to take you out for some fun?”

Simona shook her head and continued, “No, Samuel said…”

“Simona, didn’t you say you want to see the dolphin show? If we don’t go now, we’ll miss it. I promise to buy you a dolphin stuffed animal with my savings, OK? Do you still want it?” Samuel deliberately intervened to stop his sister from continuing.

He didn’t want Dolores to know that he really knew who their father was.

The reason Mom had kept quiet was because she wasn’t ready for them to know yet.

Simona glared at her brother, “Will you really buy it from me?”.

Simona was still very innocent, so in a short time she had been distracted by Samuel’s words.

“Of course.” Samuel replied confidently.

“Then, I want a lollipop too.” Simona plastered a smile on her face.

Samuel looked at Dolores and said, “You have to ask mom if you can eat that or not.”

Hearing that, Simona pouted because she remembered that mom always talked to her about the bad side of eating candy. She wouldn’t let her eat that.

Simona, once again, looked aggrieved.

Dolores kissed her daughter’s cheek and replied, “You can have one today.”

Immediately, Simona’s eyes lit up, “Really?”.

“Yes.” replied Dolores firmly.

“Mom, can I have one too?”. Samuel raised his head in her direction.

“Of course.” Dolores leaned over to hug her son lightly.

The two children were very obedient after learning that they could enjoy some treats today. Jessica then took them to the aquarium while Dolores went home to work.

Maria returned home in a huff.

Sampson was no longer working at the hospital, but was learning from Warner how to run a business.

Were it not for the steadfastness of his family business, it was very likely that the business would go bankrupt in his generation.

As for Sampson’s generation, he and his brother didn’t really have good business acumen. Sampson was no more than a medical psychologist, while Warner had been accumulating some business experience. He was somewhat capable, but it still wasn’t enough to restore the Herbert Family to its former glory.

They could only try to maintain their family business.

Seeing that his sister’s eyes were red-rimmed with tears, Sampson put down the papers his brother had handed him and got up from the couch, “What the hell is wrong with you?”
