Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire

Chapter 702

As the evening settled in, a sleek gray Bentley glided up the driveway of the sprawling Irwin Estate. Blaine turned off the engine and made his way inside, his stride purposeful and sure.noveldrama

Ava, spotting him, couldn't hide her surprise. "Mr. Blaine, what brings you home today?" she asked with genuine curiosity. Blaine had been caught up in the whirlwind of redirecting his business focus back to Northtown for over a year. His visits home for dinner twice a month were already a rare treat.

He slipped off his shoes as he entered, rubbing his forehead with a resigned smile. "Ava, it's Blaine, not Bane. If that's too tricky, you can just call me Mr. Irwin," he said, chuckling softly.

Ava nodded with her usual cheerfulness, "Got it, Mr. Bane."

Blaine let out a small sigh. It wasn't worth arguing with Ava, the beloved housekeeper who held a special place in the family. Crossing her would mean facing the displeasure of Selena and the kids.

Ava busied herself preparing dinner, while Blaine took his seat at the head of the table. On his left were Selena and their son, Mateo. Ava, cradling little Haley, sat on his right.

Mateo, having grown independent under Everett's guidance, handled his meal with ease. Meanwhile, Ava doted on young Haley, affectionately feeding her and calling her "little darling" with each bite.

Selena appeared calm, her emotions masked as she picked at her food. Blaine noticed her distraction and decided to address the elephant in the room. "I heard Everett's back from Germany. Hasn't he reached out?"

Though he only stated a fact, Selena felt a pang at his words. She nodded softly. "No, he hasn't."

Blaine's face hardened slightly. "He's back but hasn't contacted his family? Did he forget you all?"

Selena shook her head slowly. "As far as I know, he hasn't."

Everett had spent months recovering in Germany, his vital signs improving gradually. He finally woke ona mild winter day, his

restoring as he healed. Throughout this period, Dr. Campbell kept Selena updated on his progress with regular calls.

"No contact? What's his excuse then?" Blaine's voice held a hint of anger. "Is he planning to abandon you and the kids again?"

Selena had devoted herself to waiting for Everett, praying for his safety, and ensuring the children remembered him. Blaine had seen her struggles firsthand. While he admired Everett's resilience, he wouldn't stand by if it meant more heartache for Selena.

Noticing the fleeting sadness in her eyes, Blaine softened. "Maybe something's holding him up. Let's give it a little more time. He hasn't forgotten his family, so he'll have to face it eventually."

Selena forced a small smile, choosing silence over words.

Later that evening, Everett returned to the Bennett family's old manor. Carolina had been eagerly waiting, and as soon as her son stepped through the door, tears welled in her eyes. She rushed to him, wrapping him in a tight hug. At 6'2", Everett towered over her, but that didn't diminish the warmth of her

embrace.
